Do not allow the uncouth antics of some to cause you to cease contributing to these boards - I find very useful your input particularly in relation to various technical aspects of operations, coupled with the approach of not sitting on the fence when providing an opinion. To lose such useful insights would be to the detriment of readers of these forums.

I posted the link because I thought it provides some very insightful analysis of the oil price that I personally agreed with. That's the sort of sharing these BBs should be for .

Unfortunately some of the unemployed accountants have used them to stalk people on social media and ADVFN. No wonder some of us are considering giving up posting on ADVFN all together.

Appreciate the link MT - I'm pretty relaxed about oil price. This isn't another covid shock - tariffs will get resolved as it's in the US consumer interest.

Given where oil stocks currently trade including JSE a lot needs to go wrong to lose out from these prices.

The tricky decision is where to place spare funds given the many opportunities.

With so much oil market uncertainty, I suspect the most pressing issue will be how long the tariff war will continue.

Interesting to note the US dollar Index has lost 11% YTD to chart a 5 year low.

LMFAO I Just temporarily unfiltered the pugnacious troll and as expected ! He was stalking and trolling me (despite being blocked and filtered on ALL platforms).!


He goes on to say no more responding when he has spent the best part of the past month doing nothing in his life but antagonising me (even after I blocked and filtered him)! Yes I topped at 28p and then 50k at 24 and another 25k at 30k at 23 and 22 and 50k 19.56. I would bet my bottom dollar that my average is better than his!

Oilers can't catch a break at the moment but their day in the sun will come round again.. A lot of people moaned about the hedge here when oil was higher, the hedge is now working the opposite way so I wonder if the same moaners will welcome it.

I only skim read your post.Don't look at revenue look at FCF! Also don't look at the 2023 report which is not a full year ownership. Look at the latest report!

i am on this boards mostly for fun. curiosity.

interesting to spot how different professions /educations/ shape different men in general.

oilmen, engineers, sailors

doctors, accountants, office workers

etc

i learned to spot background after a few written paragraphs. and i learned to listen and learn according to their perceived strenghts.

and to use filter too

i learned to listen and respect industry insiders, accounting language used to describe the industry insiders work, pumping/dumping crowd mood noise, psychological profiling of the management, traders .... and then combine it all into one... by different weightings

instead of crosswords when i am not gardening

Sinuphorm sells gas!!! And an "oilinvestor" should be aware that Gas generally has lower revenue / and opex than Crude - so not an an apples for apples comparison!!

Per the 2023 Annual Report Sinuphorm paid back around USD3.8mn on the USD30mn investment for slightly over the 10 months that JSE owned the stake in 2023!!! Compare this to returns to date from CWLH the true gem!!

The Thai gas assets had handsome returns but nothing company changing / impacting - and it was a pointless very poorly timed acquisition that contributed to the RBL equity raise for Akatara Capex!!! Akin to a bond with a high fixed return and limited upside - better to cash it is in when times are hard and put to use on further equity upside in more price sensitive assets!

Anyways I am out of here - I don't contribute much on these boards as I have been living outside the UK for some years and my 8 figure Property portfolio - far outweighs my now sub 6 figure UK Equity Portfolio.. and has consequently lower attention for me....

I am not going to get into a pointless back and forth - I use these boards to exchange views in a civil manner / and welcome negative feedback from genuine non-troll posters as no investment is sacrosanct and capital preservation is the name of the game!!!

My apologies LuckCounts ! I was wrong with my analogy! Compared to Stagg and Montara it's actually a Full Option Bugatti. Read the last mid year results. You'll find your answers! See how much we spent on it and how much FREE cash flow it provided. Also see how much it breaks even at compared to Stagg and Montara. Also see how much capex we spend on it!


The hint for everyone should've been when they read that after selling it the OPEX per barrel goes up !!!!!

The US shale / Trump is only a small part of the picture.I hope oil goes over $100/bbl as it is literally my day job but I am seeing and hearing of pressures to the downside! GS talking about 40 due to tariffs and more importantly an upcoming glut in supply
