16/3/2021 15:26 | I don't think for a minute that the ITV's BOD would recommend a bid of 160p per share. But you know John Malone of Liberty, he likes a bargain and I wouldn't put it past him making a low bid. | nige co
16/3/2021 15:20 | Any bid would have to be more substantial than 160p, some very big funds aren't going to sell at 160p and lose clients a fortune, anyway the book value is 192p per share. The share price would shoot up on any news of a bid and the board wouldn't recommend anything as low as 160p, they would call it a derisory offer. ITV is a cash generator, nobody will steal it for peanuts, predators know a low bid would attract others and could knock them out of the running. Buying options and shares when the price is low, getting a few backers to do the same and making a bid and pocketing a huge profit when another bidder comes along used to happen many years ago, but it doesn't work these days. Google the Distiller Guinness takeover, they all went to jail. | exlogiclad
16/3/2021 14:10 | Hahaha a red tick all of a sudden. Clearly Blue poster Hades realised I was calling him a wet knicker wearing pansy. | geckotheglorious
16/3/2021 14:00 | dont forget out of the air bullish speculation is completely allowed on this bull boardthe 80m loss that is britbox - fact - is also only allowed to be discussed in positive terms, despite it being very easy to prove its not going to move the share pricein reality everyone knows this or this board would be awash with subscriber numbers and share price impact | stansmith3
16/3/2021 13:49 | zaxarobal - I believe Nige has an average of 1.60. Every scenario for the ITV recovery whether a bid materialises or the company improves on its own always rotates around 1.60 because simply that is one's average :) | panos_berks
16/3/2021 13:29 | Nige why you want a bid, ITV could do well as it is. Stop dreaming of a bid will be fine | zaxarobal
16/3/2021 13:02 | With the current ITV share price at 123p any potential predator would have to pay a premium of 30%, this brings the price up to 160p. If or when the ITV share price recovers back to the pre Covid price, at 160p plus a 30% premium would give a price of 208p. So if there is any predator out there now would be the time to strike a deal. With the economy expected to rebound later this year once we come out of lockdown ITV are only going to go from strength to strength. Just my opinion of cause. DYOR. | nige co
16/3/2021 12:53 | apologies the 47m was me - accidently hit the wrong button. Wont do it again. | netcurtains
16/3/2021 12:39 | ADVFN reporting that 909k buys 47m sells shares up 1.32%. Someone unloading? | nige co
16/3/2021 12:37 | Volume is about half of what it was yesterday. I make todays volume about 1.5M shares so far yesterday was about 3M. What does that mean IvanB? Low volume share price holding up with an upwards trajectory in my book, considering nearly 90% nearly institutional holding is that no-one is selling and there is demand. Am I right or missing something? | panos_berks
16/3/2021 12:33 | I've just been on the LSE website and downloaded all ITV trades today, 115 pages of them, and mostly all order book trades as has been the case for sometime now, nothing of any significance. The market is obviously up its tricks again today hiding some big volume and I wonder what the Yanks are up to later on today ??? | ivanborsky
16/3/2021 12:27 | Wow huge volume. Do we know proportion of sales/purchases? | sharebuddy1
16/3/2021 11:56 | Whilst you lot argue amongst yourselves, just take a moment and look at todays volume !!!!!!!!!! | ivanborsky

"hades1 post 18629 of 18631 "Some principles are beyond personal financial gain. What he said was totally unacceptable.Complet Here is one such example of a woke whining pansy!!! | geckotheglorious

15/3/2021 10:03 | hades & srday..What surprises me about your agreement in criticizing Morgan citing public service broadcasting and Piers can't take it is plain 'wokeness' in itself. The fact is, ITV a company you hold shares in is going to lose Morgan who like it or not got millions of the silent majority tuned in to see him berate 'wokeness' and have a go at politicians and a 5th rate actress trying to bring down the monarchy. It has now been revealed that half a dozen of the production team complained and were part of the firing squad. Well, Morgan gets them success in the ratings and they are then all part of a success team who were beating other channels on ratings, then some snides on that same team stabbed him in the back. Don't these woke idiots realize that it will be on their records wherever they apply for a job and the TV industry is a very hard taskmaster. What will be on record is that be careful employing snidey little snowflakes. GMB was not about the anchor being able to take stick, it was about viewers and ad revenues. What sort of investor, can agree with this totally bad decision because they don't like the anchor who get the viewers. Why not just have some bore that everybody switches off and make the show an advertising disaster. | jacko07
15/3/2021 07:38 | To be honest I dont watch TV in the morning. Shock Horror. | netcurtains
15/3/2021 01:25 | Piers like to criticise but cannot take it.good riddance. | sr2day
14/3/2021 22:57 | Given that ITV is a licensed public service broadcaster she really had no choice. I am sure he will return to ITV but not in a position where he can articulate such unsubstantiated, irresponsible and outlandish statements. Maybe he should be given a show recorded in advance of transmission? | hades1 |
