07/12/2020 18:48 | peddlers: Sorry you're right the PE is a bit higher than i specified - its about 8.5 Apologies - I was in a bit of a rush. | netcurtains
07/12/2020 18:36 | I prefer a higher PE. | peddlers
07/12/2020 15:38 | Here are the average profits ITV makes (dates taken 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2015). So non-covid profits about £500m to £600m or PE ratio between 5.6 and 7.2 | netcurtains
07/12/2020 12:41 | Yes quite right Net, either way ITV are cheap. | nige co
07/12/2020 11:11 | STV only 9k shares traded. | hades1
07/12/2020 11:07 | Nige: I've not been working out the P/E like that. I've discounted covid year, and taking a pretty average year to work out the PE. Normally ITVs pre-tax profit (before tax) is about 500 to 600 million. So a market cap of about 4 billion means ITV has a PE between 5 and 7 (using an average years profits, not covid year) | netcurtains
07/12/2020 10:49 | STV P/E 23.8....... ITV P/E 13.6 | nige co
07/12/2020 10:29 | STV going up LOADS this morning! | netcurtains
07/12/2020 09:25 | blimy I can buy cheaper than the "buy order" people.... Well done me.... | netcurtains
07/12/2020 08:50 | jacko07, you are mostly right but on 1 count having worked in the NHS for many years I would suggest that without the East Europeans there would be no workers in the NHS so it would probably still be on its knees! | prokartace
07/12/2020 08:24 | Stan - "..anti eu/nutjob leavers.." Why do you have to use offensive language to those who consider that they have perfectly good reasons for wanting to be outside of the EU? But ok, best to keep to the script here. | poikka
07/12/2020 08:21 | alex1621: Thatcher CREATED the single market - it was her baby. There is no way she would want to leave. She hated dumping! | netcurtains
07/12/2020 08:19 | Yet I doubt Thatcher would be positive about Brexit, as she was a fan of the single market? Brexit is an exercise in self-harm. I don't believe a no deal Brexit is priced in, so expect turbulence. | alex1621
07/12/2020 08:07 | jackoi think youll find there is a perfectly good lloyds board for anti eu/nutjob leavers to exchange little england views;) | stansmith3
07/12/2020 07:48 | yes quite right jacko07, we should have remained in the eu. This is clearly all a bad dream. Anyway what is done is done, lets get ITV into the 200s... This is the time for the BIG ADVERTs... I feel an up day today! | netcurtains
06/12/2020 22:26 | That troll seems to be posting everywhere Clearly completely deranged | hades1
06/12/2020 21:05 | Wrong board? | alex1621
06/12/2020 20:35 | The market knows that there is not a lot of difference between Boris's deal and no deal - its just the attitude between parties that is established before the next 20 years + of negotiations.Sad really given the status the UK once enjoyed. | hades1
06/12/2020 20:03 | I don't think it's in the price at all. I'm pretty surprised at the complacency amongst everyone ... market included. I would expect a no deal scenario to be a big market event. I hope not to be proved correct, so I'd like to see this pass with an agreement, | alex1621
06/12/2020 18:16 | alex1621: I thought that but an awful lot of brexit is already factored into all UK stocks. We can expect a big rally if a deal as the FTSE is already the worlds most under performing market due to brexit but cant see much of a fall if no deal - its already in the price. | netcurtains
06/12/2020 17:55 | The Brexit issue may well weigh on domestic economy stocks? | alex1621 |
