09/10/2020 08:39 | BritBox's reboot of British satirical puppet show Spitting Image has been renewed for a second season just days after it premiered the first episode of Season 1 online. The Avalon-produced caricature comedy will be back in fall 2021 after BritBox said its first series premiere helped boost new subscribers ten-fold compared to its average daily sign-up rate.Reemah Sakaan, group director of ITV SVOD and chief creative and brand officer of BritBox, said: "The fantastic response to Spitting Image just goes to show how much the world needs public service satire. Not only can subscribers look forward to another 9 weeks of anarchy but also now another series in 2021."The renewal comes just hours after executive producer Jon Thoday revealed that NBC backed out as Spitting Image's U.S. broadcast partner just weeks before the premiere. The Avalon founder said there was "too much nervousness" about its satirical content among NBC executives. | tdickit68
09/10/2020 08:32 | Poikka: I know what you mean. At least two variables: 1. How good an investment is ITV (going forward) relative to others? 2. How much money do you want in one investment (eg if you have made some money in it you might now be "top heavy" in it relative to other investments). Only you can answer these question - but I Suspect everyone in ITV has the same questions. | netcurtains
09/10/2020 08:30 | Disco, Net is as entitled to his opinion as anyone else. No need to be offensive. | poikka
09/10/2020 08:22 | So now comes the nervous bit: when does one take some profits? My brokers' site shows the following forecast for next year. PTP £560m, which at a MCap of £3.08bn on 76.6p = MC 5.5 x PTP EPS 11 @76.6p = P/E 7 Divi 7.5p @76.6p = yield 10% Taking some profits locks in the gain at the expense of POSSIBLE future dividends, and POSSIBLE future capital growth, not to mention possible bid, which everyone knows, of course. | poikka
09/10/2020 07:25 | That would be great Curtains but I doubt it personally. At one point yesterday the stock was up 35% from 57.5p which it briefly bottomed out a couple of weeks back and I expect a bit more profit taking this afternoon. But equally I will be chuffed to bits if I'm completely wrong !!! | ivanborsky
09/10/2020 07:11 | ..so this is the day we want to break 80p. It has to be a possibility but ONS figures might hold it back a bit - we just dont know. | netcurtains
08/10/2020 21:11 | Shouldn't bother stan, posters like hamham, stag, netcurtains etc., aren't interested in anything realistic, or facts that in anyway burst their rampy bubbles, they can't handle that, have to resort to name calling instead. The rubbish posted on here is unbelievable, particularly netcurtains posts, just hope newbies don't believe it and lose their money on the back of it.Would suggest to anybody reading posts on here that you DYOR. | discodave45
08/10/2020 19:55 | ITV is a sterling story, forget Britbox and covid, the real driver here is the British pound.Strong pound, strong share price It's a British company, selling products to british consumers.Strong pound gives international brands a bigger ROI on their spend, hence why a brexit deal could be worth 50p.The pound has been garbage for nearly 4 years now, and the worst to be reported in 21 as it will also. They'll be lots of ups and downs here in the meantime, my advice is to either trade them or chill out. You'll be exhausted with defending your position for 18 months. | plat hunter
08/10/2020 18:10 | as predicted he is just at the wind up with his deliberately stupid posts | stansmith3
08/10/2020 17:57 | so what I'm trying to say, I guess, if I put the entire stock market in a database and we looked at two different companies with the same PE but different eps is there any statistical evidence that the share with the "low" share price does better than the the share with the "high" share price (or look at it another way, is there any evidence that shares with a higher "EPS" do better than a low "EPS" if they already have the same PE ratio). I'll probably have to subtract NAV etc etc... Blimy it will get quite complex to find the outliers but its probably is worth doing... Would ITV look quite so good if we used EPS rather than PE? No it would not. However if you then had a database to see how RELATIVELY GOOD ITVs eps was was compared to other low EPS stocks (taking into account other variables) ITV might look better. Certainly at present the market thinks ITV might just might be undervalued. | netcurtains
08/10/2020 17:38 | Peddlers Post 1487 "I didn't know people still used DVD players. I haven't owned one for years" Boomer here. Blu Ray Dvd player Prefer to own the Dvds/Blu Rays rather than have them stored online as these online places shut down...what then? "As previously announced, UltraViolet will cease operations on Wednesday July 31, 2019. Hopefully, you followed the directions included in our previous emails and linked to one or more retailers before the UltraViolet shutdown and are able to access some or all of your previously acquired movies and TV shows. Going forward, you can redeem digital codes included in packaged media and make additional electronic purchases from retailers" Can't remember who I transferred to -Flixster? | geckotheglorious

08/10/2020 16:55 | Hi the Buffett of ADVFN has returned.Still waiting, in your own time eh.Ps given the eps is a composite of the price to earnings ratio then it does impact the share price, eps drops the share price drops. Hope that helps in your quest to re-inventing the meaning of value!. | discodave45
