Two very good reasons for holding onto ITV shares for the next 2 years.
11 June 2021 start of the Euro's football.
21 November 2022 start of World Cup football.
Both competitions will give a boost to advertising for ITV.
My ITV share price prediction for the start of the World Cup in November 2022 is 180p.

I think a lot are jumping into Rolls Royce over past 2 days. With their 10 for 3 issue at 32p each.
That means if you bought current shares at 100p, your average will be about 47p post taking up the offer, and even if you buy at 200p, thats post average of 70p, I think:)
So I can see it going up to 200p in run up to offer close date.

I’ll consider trimming in the 80’s. Was lucky to buy in the 58’s with a position equating to a grand a point. I want to take some profit but this seems one way at the moment so would likely be a mistake to reduce right now.

Wow, that's now nearly 30% give or take in the last couple of weeks and I reckon its 10/11 of the last trading days ITV have been blue ! I'm now even thinking of taking some off the table, nothing major just a trim not a full haircut !!!

Obviously a lot going on in the background for itv which bodes well for 2021 and beyond and currently appears to be a stream of positive little news snippets cropping up . I for 1 am quite happy to sit on itv and see where this goes over the next 18 months - more of a tortoise than a hare but hoping to double my investment having bought in at 59p by end of 2021. if Britbox and hub are going to be as successful as Love island then exclusive quality content produced in house is the trigger to drive the advertising which hopefully will be at higher margin with Planet V removing the need for a middleman.

I agree, a lot of good posts here of late, can't say the same for the other ITV thread.

slater5...I was in ARM holdings, best share ever for me because it just grew and grew.
Can't agree ITV are another arm, but I will be happy to see 100p.

StagYou've posted I'm inexperienced, now tetchy and assumed I agree with everything stan posts. Try sticking to ITV rather than making personal remarks about a complete stranger. On fundamentals £3 is highly unlikely, on sentiment or a bid who knows.......nobody does, to cite £3 as an "accurate" figure based purely on market sentiment is farcical.Very rampy board this so will leave you all to it.Good luck everyone.

disco..try not to be tetchy, I was pointing out that an experienced investor knows that in reality only the big players can write naked calls because any share's upward movement is unlimited. I think that is why stansmith commenting that it is utter nonsense that ITV could not reach 250p-300p is in his opinion which is not how an experienced investor would see the situation.

The chances ITV will do it are slim, but possible, so to call it utter nonsense is just stupid. stansmith tried without success to denograte slater5, who has always posted good info on this blog and others.

Wasn't having a go at you, just pointing out that slater5's post was accurate in my opinion.

Not only is ITV really cheap by UK valuations (Eg PE of 6 when FTSE250 is 20), the entire UK market is cheaper than most other developed countries. So ITV is not just cheap in the UK, it is cheap for more or less the entire western world:

disco..don't show your inexperience, stansmith is a doomster and his posts are vapid.

Have you never experienced share prices being down and out, at least look at history to disprove that any company can soar on positive news. Media companies are some of the first to rise after a recessionary period. I read what slater5 has posted and it certainly is not utter nonsense.

ITV can grow organically from here because they have been manipulated out of the FTSE 100, they have a good infrastructure and are a fundamentally a sound company. If a bid were to come it would have to be at something the institutional holders would sell at, so the price could be 200p or more, there isn't a big percentage to be had. Although there was a sell off when ITV were demoted, it wasn't a rout. In fact the share price hardly suffered and was possibly much to the chagrin of Goldman who love to dismantle companies. They are now in process of transferring their holdings but are they going to buy more?

Netflix hasn't made a penny profit and the share price rises, they also are steeped in debt. The rises are for future profits...the share price of a company can soar on good positive news, so whether you agree with slater5 or stan smith, all that matters is what the market thinks is going to happen tomorrow, next week, next month, next year.

A vaccine, Brexit positivity, ad revenues back will put these up, they are at the moment at heavy discount and in my book a BUY.
