The FTSE100 was 1000 points higher than it is now at the end of 1999.

And the UK market has woefully underperformed compared with US.

There used to be only a few hundred points difference between the Dow Jones index and the FTSE100. Now it is 20000 difference.

So can’t fathom where you got your record 11year bull run from!

A nice 6.77% close in the ADR's at the highest price of the day, over in the USA, all be it on very low volume of shares traded. Closed up over 2% on London closing price. This bodes well for the start tomorrow.

And after the March sub 5k lows, the ftse100 has technically entered a new bull run when it first hit 6k in April. Until it drops to below approx 4.7k, we stay in a new bull run.

The ftse100 bull market was far less dramatic than the Dow because it heavy main constituents aren't 21st century. But technically it stayed in the run.

The definition of a bull market is when it goes up 20% and it stays in a bull market until it falls over 20% below the recent highs.
The Dow went 11 years without dropping.

A good day for ITV today, interims showed the company is in good fettle. I see a large trade again after the bell, 36 million volume.

Friday tomorrow, hoping for a close nearer 70p.

The whole market was overpriced, after 11 years of a record bull run.

What bull run are talking about, the UK market hasn't had a proper bull run for years and I don't see too many overpriced stocks this side of the pond.

In 2011 the FTSE was exactly what it closed at tonight just over 6000, since then it's highest peak was around 7600 in 2108....hardly a bull market, more of the last ten years since the meltdown of a slow lagging index.

Maybe these recent lows will be the start of a bull market.

No real shocks today with the numbers and pretty much what I was expecting hence all my top ups last week and on Monday. GS were obviously in the market this morning to try and close their market 'short' and knowing them we won't find out until say next week.

60p may now be the support, GS will have a bash at it again tomorrow morning no doubt but no dramas here and looking forward to next week.

ITV has been well traded over the last few weeks and today it made the top 5 !!

Onwards and upwards team.

The whole market was overpriced, after 11 years of a record bull run. We have now had major correction, am happy to buy now, and again if so drops.

Is that news? Or is it already priced in? lol. Because I'm sure I read that somewhere last week? Oh yeah, it was all over newspapers, tv news and radio! Markets take time to catch up.

I think the banks gonna be ok, now PPI out the way, very high capitalisations. With equal level of annual provisioning for covid for 12 months, then big divis gradually reinstated, or I prefer share buy backs.
Most the covid loans are underwritten by the gov as the banks couldn't lend because customers didn't match criteria (rules encouraged by the gov ironically), hence the gov had to step in and underwrite.
The BoE will flood the banks with practically free money if it is needed.

Well well well what a fantastic day for us ITV holders so far & may it long continue. I don’t think anyone expected this after the results first thing? I think people are seeing through this & believe things are moving forward behind the scenes? In fact I know they are 😃 I predict a little bit of good news & its 80p plus

I think so too, with the possible exception of the banks, who might have to up debt provisions again as loans go bad and unemployment increases ... but I also suspect they will soar once this period is over. Lloyds Bank paid out more in PPI fines in the last few years than its current market capitalisation. An indication of its potential post-Covid.

Can’t knock it now.
A lot happier today, hoping they’ve stopped playing games and no supply left in market for reprice.
B/even not too far away.
