ITV stock had its "overweight" rating reiterated by equities research analysts at JPMorgan Chase & Co. in a research note issued to investors on Monday. They presently have a GBX 170 ($2.06) price objective on the broadcaster's stock.

I agree Max. Got 375,000 shares riding on it too. Roll on July 28th. Whilst I expect caution in the results I think the numbers will speak for themselves this time and we’ll see an uptick. Albeit a smaller move up than if we were in more normal times.

Some bloke on Bloomberg says that in a recession, people will give up on holidays, going out to cinemas, restaurants, pubs, theatres and general outdoors entertainment. But what they won't give up on is staying indoors, buying in beers from the supermarket and watching tv, even from monthly subscription platforms because the whole experience is considerably cheaper than going out. I also think ITV will surprise the markets (to the upside) in their next trading statement.

In a recession, ITV wins in two ways (a) less people will watch pay for streaming.
And (b) Firms advertise more to help boost their flagging sales.

There is always a chance at some point in the future but I don’t believe in any imminent takeover.
The results in July should be in line with expectations but it’s what they say about the outlook that will be key. I understand advertising revenues are running ahead of analysts forecasts but any imminent recession will eventually impact the numbers.
Everything depends on how long and deep any possible recession becomes?
Everything depends on the UK economic outlook.

There is NO imminent take over.
It’s just wrong!
I wish it were otherwise.
ITV is a long term hold but it is likely go lower but hopefully not much lower than pandemic levels - really depends on global markets.
