In a recession, ITV wins in two ways (a) less people will watch pay for streaming.
And (b) Firms advertise more to help boost their flagging sales.

There is always a chance at some point in the future but I don’t believe in any imminent takeover.
The results in July should be in line with expectations but it’s what they say about the outlook that will be key. I understand advertising revenues are running ahead of analysts forecasts but any imminent recession will eventually impact the numbers.
Everything depends on how long and deep any possible recession becomes?
Everything depends on the UK economic outlook.

Boix...maybe you are correct, but I often believe in the reverse approach and expect the unexpected...it's a mind game over possible T/O.

There is NO imminent take over.
It’s just wrong!
I wish it were otherwise.
ITV is a long term hold but it is likely go lower but hopefully not much lower than pandemic levels - really depends on global markets.

If ITVX is successful, expect the share price to go below 20p

I have a new theory for shares. The more profitable the company the lower the share price goes. On that basis ITV, with earnings and profits on the increase, it’s share price should soon be in the 20p’s.

Its looking like inflation has peaked. (for now) Rates have peaked. (for now)
so rate hike expectations are dropping in the US. Economy is weak.

The market is always ahead of the FED. Looks and feels like the market is reversing and I am of the opinion the FED will pivot into a rising market.

edit.
Stocks are all over the place, sell off over recession fears or potential to rally with easing(pivot) and QE.

As the bear roams and ITV drop below 66p and this thread has caught a virus with too many nicknames to mention.

A couple of Warren Buffett gems to inspire.

“Successful Investing takes time, discipline and patience. No matter how great the talent or effort, some things just take time: You can’t produce a baby in one month by getting nine women pregnant.”

“Buy a stock the way you would buy a house. Understand and like it such that you’d be content to own it in the absence of any market.”
