20/9/2024 09:56 | ITVX August Debrief stats just published. “ITVX was once again the biggest commercial BVOD player in August. This extended our streak of consecutive months at number one to eight - a fantastic achievement for the service.” “Streaming hours and streams were also up 7% and 5% year on year respectively. This illustrates how ITVX is maintaining its upwards trajectory.” | bigegoadvfn

19/9/2024 15:22 | Hi Robwt, I hadn’t seen the short interest stuff , but I would go with Huckers and Bigego’s comments. Don’t think it’s very important/px sensitive. Sorry that’s not very helpful (from me). | matthewr1
19/9/2024 14:45 | It seems to be a very badly written article. The attention grabbing "35% increase" pulls you in thinking 35% of ALL the ITV shares are short - which would be huge, but infact they are simply comparing one historic number of shares short to current and deducing that has increased by 35% (eg 100 shares last month and 135 this month kinda thing wow!!!) However their data is suspect as the quote only talks about shares in the thousands! What on earth do they mean?! : "I think it’s worth looking at the numbers behind the short interest. Although this grew by 35.3% in a few weeks, with only 4,600 held short, it’s still less than the daily average volume of 7,300. So while it’s worth keeping an eye on, I don’t think it’s a trend to be concerned by." I agree shorttracker provides the real picture and barely changes from one month to the next. | bigegoadvfn
19/9/2024 14:09 | Just background noise in my opinion given the liquidity and size of ITV. | pinemartin9
19/9/2024 13:57 | I look at the short interest from time to time and I'm fairly certain it has stayed more or less the same over recent months. Occasionally someone will drop out as they just fall below the 0.5% threshold only for them to reappear when they increase back above the same threshold. Nothing has changed dramatically. Best to avoid reading the Motley Fool, too! You can see the changes as they are reported here. shorttracker.co.uk/c | huckers

19/9/2024 12:11 | Thanks for the update Bigego. I don’t want to be a party pooper , because cancelling shares is a positive. However in 99% of occasions, shares are cancelled with a buyback , ie it’s not a surprise to the market whatsoever. What is a surprise is the timing , as to why now and when will they cancel the circa 100m shares they’ve already bought. She committed to returning all proceeds to shareholders so it really was nailed on. Let’s see if US can hold the gains…. | matthewr1
18/9/2024 19:15 | New buyback RNS - shares cancelled for 2nd time in a row. Excellent. | bigegoadvfn
