24/7/2023 10:04 | We can but hope, In the words of Thomas Fuller :- "It’s Always Darkest Before the Dawn". | skinny
24/7/2023 09:59 | Germany's manufacturing PMI plummeted to 38.8, twelve consecutive months of contraction. | gimmethefax
24/7/2023 09:15 | Perhaps they are getting a bit greedy then 😁😁 | grahamwales
24/7/2023 09:07 | Everything should be clear on the 27th..red or blue?? | baldrick1
24/7/2023 09:01 | Graham - they reduced their short repeatedly between 11-Nov-21 & 21-Feb-22, in which time the price went from @£5.05p -----> £2.20p. Anyway - we probably will never know, but, as I posted, my guess is that they are increasing again in the hope of a banana skin on 27th. | skinny
24/7/2023 08:53 | Yep would be interesting to know what they are holding on the long side. Assuming its a long/short fund. | bjfanc
24/7/2023 08:34 | Don't care as long as they get a good old roasting | moontheloon
24/7/2023 08:29 | bmel Explain to the uninitiated the popular US arbitrage play to get the capital shorting a share you think will underperform to invest in snother you expect to overperform. The interesting thing about Helikon is that they appear to be overstretched else they might have paid to divorce the two legs | norbus
24/7/2023 08:28 | Maybe it's enough for them to confuse, and create a red flag for some investors in itself.. it's got us bemused | moontheloon
24/7/2023 08:20 | They only make money when they close the short. Can’t see how they have made money. More likely they are trying to average up in an effort to cover shorts opened at a lower price. With global temperatures rising quickly governments will be under pressure to support green energy not the time to short green energy stocks IMO. | grahamwales
24/7/2023 08:08 | Bmel - I can only think that they (helikon) have more than made their money back here, and are increasing the position (again), hoping for a banana skin on the 27th. But who knows.... | skinny
24/7/2023 08:02 | Lots of programs on TV lately regarding global warming, Greece is in fire yet Shell will put profit before the environment. ☹️ϒ | grahamwales
23/7/2023 21:16 | As you say they now have quite a lot of shares to buy back. Perhaps they are hoping for private investors to take profits however I dint believe it’s just private investors who have been picking up shares. You would think that a new major investor or existing investor would have put out a TR1 notice if they had been buying. Perhaps we will see one next week. | grahamwales
23/7/2023 19:27 | This "OXO Quebe" if you read through all my posts you will see that I believed the "3 Amigos" were just a "teaser" - i wasn't worried in the slightest if they took their profit. and I never foresaw the "market manipulation" that Friday afternoon. With hindsight last Friday afternoons buying opportunity was Possibly/Probably due to "OXO" Quebe(not to be confused with OXO the winner of the 1959 Grand National !!) who may or may not have been shorting lightly before applying full throttle The teaser has done done its job "excited the william hill broode Mare" ready in time for the "Stallion" (not Cancara!) to appear SOON and deliver the goods. I wonder if the Oxo Quebe has now dissolved and if it was them who closed their position post 4-30 on the "gravy train" time will tell | navigo
23/7/2023 19:24 | Skinny I have no idea what their strategy is - quite puzzling. As the dates indicate they must have made good money. Why did they not take the profits when they were substantially higher than they are now? Notable that they have been selling in increasingly large blocks and still not stopping the significant rise in price. They seem to be expecting a further substantial price drop. I think Mr Schulz has already evidenced that he is not a man to bet against on the future value of this business. They now have a very large number of shares to buy back - assuming of course they have sold them. Perhaps whatever they did with the cash is making them more money than the continued short would lose them. Who knows - I doubt we ever will, but we do know they are going to have to buy many multiple millions of shares and that will impact the price. When - not if. | bmel
23/7/2023 08:42 | The increased shorts..Will it drop share price early Monday? | baldrick1
22/7/2023 19:27 | bmel Schulz has proved his transparency. He was quick to correct a follower that not all skids for the 1st RWE 100MW were delivered last week. The European blue chips will not gamble buying expensive untested kit from new kids on the hydrogen block The records being broken on the heat waves will both shame the conflicted hold outs like Shell trying to protect their fossil estates into action and will draw others into managable size entries such as fuelling stations for heavy transport.. The shipping IMO gathered 80 Nations and are going for Hydrogen. They will generate demand to keep Schulz on his toes and the very front of the pack. You could be right about having done enough since he took charge. That is not him. He will not be satisfied if he did not put out a blockbuster next Thursday | norbus
22/7/2023 16:05 | If they wanted to sow doubt and uncertainty they certainly have, what do the markets not like. Big oil paid em | moontheloon
22/7/2023 16:03 | Maybe they've shorted their own short ...;) | moontheloon
22/7/2023 15:54 | Almost as if they don't want ITM to succeed although most of the stock are gold so not as if would affect them financially if Oil and Gas got dropped in favour of Hydrogen. Now they seem to be stuck with a growing short and the share price rising. | grahamwales
22/7/2023 15:49 | Bmel - helikon's short is hard to fathom - they've been short in one shape or form for years. Here are their entries, starting in October 2021 - presumably when they first reached 0.5% and was probably @£5. 0.50% 01-Oct-21 0.67% 05-Oct-21 0.73% 06-Oct-21 0.85% 08-Oct-21 0.93% 11-Oct-21 1.00% 11-Nov-21 0.91% 16-Nov-21 0.88% 27-Jan-22 0.75% 28-Jan-22 0.65% 04-Feb-22 0.58% 08-Feb-22 0.48% 21-Feb-22 0.51% 26-Oct-22 0.74% 02-Nov-22 0.82% 03-Nov-22 0.90% 04-Nov-22 1.04% 08-Nov-22 1.10% 09-Nov-22 1.21% 10-Nov-22 1.43% 14-Nov-22 1.51% 15-Nov-22 1.64% 16-Nov-22 1.75% 17-Nov-22 1.84% 18-Nov-22 1.94% 22-Nov-22 2.05% 23-Nov-22 2.14% 24-Nov-22 2.21% 27-Jan-23 2.38% 31-Jan-23 2.41% 01-Feb-23 2.50% 02-Feb-23 2.67% 08-Feb-23 2.70% 29-Jun-23 2.81% 05-Jul-23 2.90% 07-Jul-23 3.01% 12-Jul-23 3.14% 14-Jul-23 3.27% 17-Jul-23 3.31% 20-Jul-23 | skinny |
