BMEl - Do you know why the Whitlees Hydrogen Project has not gone ahead. I had presumed because of production blockage/difficulties at ITM.

An Israel Iran war could break out soon. That will snarl the shipping routes, and make energy scarce. What will the UK do? UK has been spoiled for years and its politicians seem to have lost what it takes to lead a country on all fronts, be it politically , economically, etc etc.. Spoiled after WWII, we no longer worry about self sufficiency

1knocker....it's currently valued just above their cash in the bank position, hardly valuing the tech at all. Tell the institutions that scrambled to buy at the most recent 400p placing that it's overvalued...or JPMorgan who've recently given a 210p target. This is a great entry price. DYOR

That is what the Scottish Power facility at Whitelees is supposed to do.

Unhappily it seems stuck in a planning black hole.

I saw an estimate that the UK spent over £1bn to operators to keep wind plant shut down because of grid capacity constraints.

As there is new wind capacity coming on stream almost daily, that waste will increase further. Criminally stupid waste of resource.

100% Yes . They will be sorry if any serious war breaks out and they have foregone an energy gift from Nature

Norbus -Absolutely shameful.
But on the brighter side isn't this a case for using the used capacity from wind farms and convert to Hydrogen. Then into the gas Grid. Good for ITM?

A couple of years ago I made a useful profit riding the hype here, though I sold out well below the ATH. Amazing really that shareholders can make money on unprofitable businesses existing off state subsidies, but eventually the hype fades and reality returns to the market. The share price is still ridiculously high. Avoid.

Probably some but small scale so far - much the same as everyone else.

They do have a big fuel cell business.

They have however been making some huge promises (announcements) along the lines of them building full plants and selling liquid hydrogen via pipeline etc. Interestingly they deal they had with Forstesque to build electrolysers in Australia fell apart. They say it was not profitable enough.......who knows.

They are also a massively shorted stock. Last time I looked it was about 13%.

Plug Power

Have they actually got any working electrolysers.

During the quarter, revenue surged 49.4% year-over-year to $210.3 million, rising past estimates by $2.6 million. Net loss per share at $0.35 though came in wider than estimates by $0.09. The company delivered 62MW of electrolyzers in Q1 and added 14 material handling sites.

Well well 13 minutes after opening and Plug is down 14%

Losing more money than expected to......

Not uncommon you have to say, but their promises were much much bigger than ours
