01/12/2022 12:23 | Absolutely however the UK needs to generate as much renewables as possible. I’m still struggling as to why they switch of turbines bearing in mind we are linked to Europe power grid. Perhaps the national grid needs overhauling and unable to cope with peak power. | grahamwales
01/12/2022 12:15 | Wind power in itself is not the solution - when excess power is generated, it needs to be stored and used on days like today and yesterday, when there is little sun/wind. Currently, the wind turbines are turned off if they produce more than the demand rather than the surplus being stored. The sooner that the powers that be join the dots..... | skinny

01/12/2022 11:46 | Batteries not only degrade over time in the cold weather they lose a hell of a lot of range. My car can lose around 10 miles overnight so imagine how much a truck could lose. Then you have heating and lights constantly on during winter. I can start with a range of 230 miles and end up only getting 190 miles over 2 days. That’s not even taking into account of charging times and cost as electricity costs are getting close to diesel per mile. Also referring to your earlier post regarding long term storage of renewable energy (as above) degradation and loss of energy if stored in batteries for long periods. | grahamwales
