13/12/2024 10:42 | Its well recognised that due to the make up of IQE's substantial shareholder list, the movement of our shareprice is very volatile. When the share price went up to 35p it got slightly ahead of itself and the sector hitch in demand has led to a 66% fall in the share price(grossly overdone in my view) With new experienced Management in place,Keen to turn the Company around, lets hope 2025 will provide patient long term shareholders the success they deserve. It is at the heart of future GaN and Microled technology to finally achieve its aims.Lets hope it features as one of the New Year Tip Small Cap Growth Stocks especially with the huge potential of the IPO in Taiwan | lammergeier
13/12/2024 09:51 | Thanks Provonar. Lords you would hope at the very least 2025 won’t be worse! We desperately need something positive next year to shift the share price because the market isn’t interested in anything risky and is pricing in a long turnaround at present | longtallsally
13/12/2024 09:51 | That’s if the people at the head of the company are smart enough to realise this. | jimboyce
13/12/2024 09:27 | New tariffs in the US look like they will impact epiwafer imports: Import item code 3818.00.00: "Chemical elements and wafers doped for use in electronics" appears to imply epiwafers aswell, as almost all CS epiwafers include some doping to tune the electrical properties of the layers. What impact this will have on IQE is hard to tell. On one hand, it will help protect the NC manufacturing site from cheaper Chinese/Taiwanese imports; on the other, it will be more difficult to export from Newport/Taiwan to the US. However, the silver-lining is that at least IQE does have distributed manufactuing centres, so can tailor production to avoid tarriffs - easier said than done, perhaps, but at least it's an option that's open to IQE. | provonar
12/12/2024 23:00 | smorales - shame IQE’s 2024 share price hasn’t mirrored BKS’ performance. Feels like death by a thousand cuts right now. Surely 2025 can’t get much worse, can it?! | lord loads of lolly
12/12/2024 12:30 | Lord loads of lolly - I agree, the technology they do is brilliant, just frustrating that they are unable to capitalist better with it. | technowiz1
12/12/2024 09:47 | I was concerned that Mark Cubitt may be spreading himself too thin, so pleased to see he's stepping down as Chair at Beeks. "11 December 2024 - Beeks Financial Cloud Group plc (AIM: BKS), a cloud computing and connectivity provider for financial markets, announces the following changes to the roles of the Board of Directors, with immediate effect. Current Non-Executive Director, William Meldrum, will assume the role of Chair of the Board, and Mark Cubitt, Chair, will move into a Non-Executive Director role, following his recent appointment as Executive Chair of IQE plc. All Board committees remain the same." | smorales
11/12/2024 19:48 | Yep but I don’t see that helping IQE. Currently we’re damaged goods until they prove some clawing back of lost revenue and of course proof of how much Taiwan is worth via listing | crosswires
11/12/2024 17:10 | Nasdaq has crossed 20,000 points for the first time and maybe breaking out? | lammergeier
11/12/2024 16:54 | Just a question of how many investors have the stamina to hold on for GaN and Micro LED etc. Disappointing drift back down, but investors appetite for anything risky has evaporated | crosswires
11/12/2024 15:57 | Yep Micro LED will be needed if AR Galsses are to ever take off into mass adoption. Costs need to fall and tech issues solved, but if we’re lucky this could be a big driver for IQE in 5 or so years. | longtallsally

10/12/2024 16:39 | IQE share price never rallied on any possibility of USA grant so don’t see why that would effect share price downwards, and besides for various reasons I don’t think IQE is in line for the $305m that was being bandied about anyway. | longtallsally
10/12/2024 15:55 | Seems like Trump may restrict Chip Act grants according to FT. Probably reason for current weakness. | jimboyce
10/12/2024 15:31 | Certainly no sign of a share price recovery from these lows or much of a demand for IQE shares. Will take a while to restore confidence imo | longtallsally
10/12/2024 13:44 | technowiz1 - who knows. But history suggests you’re being optimistic there. | lord loads of lolly
10/12/2024 08:55 | For Xmas I am thinking we are looking around 13.5p, once prelim H2/full year results indications are given early 2025 I think it will have an opportunity to jump up back up to 19p-20p, after that we need some good news either on the TW IPO or some kind of EPI partnership for GaN or something similar. | technowiz1
09/12/2024 07:16 | Relatively recent news on UltraRam. Hopefully if this progresses to full manufacture it doesn’t stay in IQE Taiwan. Reminder of IQE partnership | neil100
06/12/2024 14:05 | LTS - sure. But it does say the funding would be “over several years”, which could even mean decades in practice. IQE has already secured local State grants, though these are contingent on Chips Act funding being awarded. As well as on hitting various performance-related milestones (not something IQE’s exactly excelled in to date). My guess is that IF this ever comes to anything, IQE will largely fund its share by selling off ever more of the (Taiwanese) family silver. Which might actually be the right approach, in light of the current noise China’s giving off. | lord loads of lolly
06/12/2024 12:42 | “The company plans to create 109 jobs and invest $309 million over several years in the expansion, partially funded by federal dollars through the CHIPS Act.” Partially? Seeing as IQE has only enough funds to operate its current activities I think it’s relying 99.9% on a huge grant which as we know hasn’t been confirmed. I would love it to be true though but even then it’s reliant - as all of these grants are - on large commitments from IQE financially and from their end customers. | longtallsally
06/12/2024 12:14 | Bit more detail about Iqe expansion in Greensboro,North Carolina 6/12/24 | lammergeier
06/12/2024 11:35 | Hutchmeister - I've just checked the US PACER site and the lawyers have been working around 'scheduling conflicts' (since beginning of August) in order to agree a future date for Oral Arguments. Court has provided a session calendar to May 2025 - so don't expect any news for a while. | smorales |
