01/2/2018 22:23 | Kazoom my thoughts on this were based on the Finance Director saying in 2016 that at full capacity revenue would be around $300m. That was 2 years ago. Price of wafers would have needed to have dropped significantly if we are at capacity with current (2017) revenue? | poombear

01/2/2018 21:26 | hmm - poombear so why did they agree to reduce supply in to the wireless sector in order to switch capacity to VCSEL? Some of the extra capacity coming on stream will allow them to replenish inventories in Wireless (before the big 5G push comes). Maybe not 100% capacity, but I'd certainly think they are in the high 90s. | kazoom
01/2/2018 21:11 | I don't agree that IQE are at full capacity, so to say they can sell as many wafers as they can produce is plain wrong. I think that they have projected that by H2 2018, their capacity as of H2 2017 needed to be enhanced, and so far we have just seen preparation for that. | poombear
01/2/2018 21:01 | Die / Dies / Dice / VCSEL / VCSELs / VCSEL arrays All very interesting I'm sure. But as Sweenoid says one thing we know is that for the moment IQE can sell every VSCEL capable wafer they can make. Certainly though it would be useful to have some understanding of the level of demand, but rather than getting tooo technical surely a better measure, for example, would be how many smart phones can be supplied per wafer? | kazoom
