24/7/2017 13:04 | I genuinely can't think of a better stock which has BOTH of these qualities: A clear visible path to HUGE growing revenue streams: (Mobiles, Internet, IoT, Solar, Robotics, Automation etc etc). Low risk: Diversified products and Tier one end customers. There are many stocks with high growth potential - but are high risk. There are many stocks that are low risk but with limited growth potential. IQE has the best of both worlds. So I am happy to have very large holdings in both SIPP and ISAs.. | someuwin
24/7/2017 13:03 | Looks like it might have just started! | ayl30
24/7/2017 12:19 | It seems a nice quiet day of consolidation before the next upward move. | daijavu
24/7/2017 11:45 | Hexode That's a gracious response. Memory is a tricky thing that often misleads all of us. I don't see IQE fully emulating ARM but even if it did say 20% it would be astonishing as an investment. | tonsil
24/7/2017 11:08 | It's a lovely market to be selling into isn't it? IQE are the largest supplier of compound semiconductors, patented, selling into the iPhone/high-end smartphone market, fibre optic communications markets, high-power switching, LED lighting, CPU, memory, wireless RF chips/5G comms markets. All of these markets including either higher performance or reduced costs. Beautiful investment proposition IMO | luxaeterna1
24/7/2017 11:02 | well just sold my few DIS shares with 170% but only allowed me to buy 596 more IQE to add to my original IQE shares that I bought at 22p, onwards and upwards | distill
24/7/2017 10:55 | Good website, worth a look over if you want to appreciate the full prospect of 5G | fullbright
24/7/2017 10:34 | Someuwin As board initiator I think it would be VERY useful for you to add a message in the header for new visitors to this BB which says that the FD's presentation is a MUST to watch before asking questions of others here. Best | toffeeman
24/7/2017 10:30 | Tonsil Thanks for your post. You are quite right it was 22nd April 1999. turned up the contract note for 150 shares at £7.20. Big money for me in those days. Then sold 50 at £31.905 on 16th December 1999. Don't intend to make the same mistake with IQE. Really value all your posts. | hexode
24/7/2017 09:45 | This is still the early stage of the huge growth to come here... "In light of recent progress and its increasingly confident outlook, the Board expects the Group will now exceed market expectations for the full year and whilst it remains early into the start of the mass-market adoption of our technology, it is possible that with the current contract momentum, a more significant upgrade to current market expectations could be delivered for 2018." | someuwin
24/7/2017 09:28 | Some lovely rumours on the market about supply chain VCSELs getting incorporated into popular smartphones. I just can't wait to see the marketing for it | luxaeterna1

24/7/2017 00:22 | ARM had two splits that between them increased the number of shares on issue twentyfold. The first split in 1999 gave each shareholders four shares for every share they owned. The second split in 2000 gave each shareholder five shares for every one they owned. The result was that every shareholder who held onto his pre 1999 shareholding ended up after the 2000 split with 20 times the number of shares they had owned before the 1999 split. ARM was sold to SoftBank of Japan for £17 a share last year. That equates to £340 for each share owned before the 1999 split. If IQE could match that performance we would all be rich. | daijavu
23/7/2017 21:35 | Did you not get in on Durlacher :-) | panic investor
23/7/2017 21:09 | HexodeYou're a fantasist. ARM had its IPO in 1998. The only way to own ARM before that was to buy Acorn which was a penny share in 1993. It was 5p until an article in EE weekly appeared. It had gone to 9p when I bought £500 worth. Acorn owned 25% of ARM. I think it was 1999 when Acorn was converted into ARM shares. It was the biggest multibagger I have ever invested in. | tonsil
23/7/2017 21:08 | Hexode: Wow that is impressive. Was your holding at 0.17p diluted or did one share at that price equal on at the current 105p? Either way a fantastic gain. You must be enjoying your retirement. Good for you. By the way, how is the weather in the Bahamas? | bocase
23/7/2017 20:35 | You sound like an investment genius hexode. Any tips for us mere mortals? | meijiman |
