If IQE ever does get taken out the obvious candidate would be Intel. I predict a bid in the next 12 months at around the £2 level.

Sweenoid, if your 5% dogs are looking for a better kennel, you could apply some of your famous research to VRS, which you may find has similar potential as you spotted in IQE years ago. NAI! And thanks for all the great research here

I hope that the bang does turn out to be positive for you or that previous success will prevent ruin but black swans do happen/exist and 95% does seem injudicious to say the least.

My5% are historical dogs held purely to offset my eventual huge capital gains on IQE . ( even though 80% of our holdings are in ISA's).IQE is my only active and will be my last investment :-)

I got this from an Oclaro blog, the bullet points are the same for IQE PHOTONICS , but we also have 5 other divisions , we are in massive markets, growing exponentially but also needing upscaling within a few years of installation -what a magic proposition.

Oclaro's financials are at a turning point, with cash from operations and net income now positive.

Demand for bandwidth and low latency in the core network continues to explode.

The growth in mobile traffic is pegged to rise 1,000% in 6 years.

Processing Big Data requires the massive parallelism of Cloud Computing.

Optical fiber interconnects are the ONLY way to meet such requirements.

Think about it

I'm just fascinated, sweenoid, to know what share(s) are exciting enough to seduce you to invest 5% of your portfolio in them?

Well done here. Quite superb

It's always nice to see private individuals exercising their right to own private property (shares) and enjoying their profits..

I bought this as a punt last week, firstly at around 67p and then again at 69p. It is good to see such great research and feedback on this board, which has prompted me to remain in rather than take a quick turn, There are a lot of unknowns, but this one does feel very good. Let's hope for another successful week.
