05/5/2017 17:44 | IQE in today's FT... | someuwin
05/5/2017 17:35 | When did they buy in at 12 times earnings and do they think the share price could double from then or double from now? All a bit vague. | aimingupward2
05/5/2017 17:28 | Positive piece in Moneyweek today written by Richard Pease who manages the FP Crux European fund ... We also like IQE (Aim: IQE), a small Cardiff-based company which is leading the way in advanced semiconductor products. IQE has developed technology that enables a microchip to have 320 layers, which improves the performance of products such as smartphones and solar panels. In the wireless electronic device market, IQE has a market share of more than 50%. It has an impressive management team, a good balance sheet and a lot of intellectual property. We bought in at 12 times earnings and think the shares could double quite quickly. | hannath
05/5/2017 14:46 | Good work sweenoid - keep it coming. Another use for 3d sensing I was reading about as a possible iPhone 8 feature is the ability to take photos with embedded depth information thus enabling the user to adjust depth of field and change focus after the event (or something like that) ...The possibilities are endless. | someuwin
04/5/2017 23:31 | Do Iqe supply himax technologies or Are they one of our competitors? Just been reading a article by Jason stuteman | grity
04/5/2017 19:06 | Thanks SweenoidI did not know vcsel mkt share was a high as 80%, should be paying more attention ! | rogerrail
04/5/2017 17:18 | For your pleasure , I haven't read it but I heard the call, the analysts got rather excited about the call when they heard about the 3D sensing win , the poor CEO just about handled 'boxing in' his enthusiasm and optimism about things :-) This 3D sensing is going to be a HUGE revenue earner for IQE and its high margin business too, I would expect the IQE analyst community to have something to say about it soon, if not tomorrow, if not I would be astonished I advice anyone seriously interested in IQE to read this S | sweenoid
04/5/2017 16:39 | To Someuwin 1st I did predict what would happen to the Lumentum share price in my post 30 mins before the US market opened and I would still be a buyer - I reckon their share price will double from here in 2 years - the demand for 3D sensing is going to be HUGE and they have a mile start on competitors To Roger Rail I have Okkam's razor on my side ;-) it really is very simple , look at the facts, thin Okkam's razor and you get the solution Fact- IQE command 80% of the global VCSEL market , this is a publicly stated fact, they don't just have the biggest share of the VCSEL market- they have the best fastest VCSEL that exist - publicly proven fact. Fact- Apple will want the best 3D sensing it can get and 3D sensing depends on VCSELS. Apple's demands are likely to exceed the current global production levels of the best VCSELS which will be fabbed by Lumentum into their 3D sensing chips. Fact- IQE have been very bullish about the prospects for 3D sensing , facial recognition , automotive use for the last 2 years- they have seen this coming Lumentum will be desperate for the bigggest supply of the best VCSELS available - they simply HAVE to buy the bulk ( not all, Apple wont allow that) from IQE- they have no other option quite simple really :-)... 03/5/2017 14:21 | Heartened to see that each time the share price dips buyers seem to move in quickly. I still feel their is so much professional interest in this stock. | blueflame
03/5/2017 05:55 | Apple sales fell a bit short but sound confident about the future. I suspect IQE share price will go even higher as now that ARM has gone and IMG are in trouble there are not many decent size UK tech companies left to invest in which is a cause for concern. I can only think of Xaar the world class printer manufacturer at the moment. There are smaller ones but not really proven yet. | amt
02/5/2017 18:30 | you are not looking at the same graphs as I am pal!? S | sweenoid

02/5/2017 07:51 | Looks like power electronics will start to generate revenue this year, Not sure if Transphorm buy wafers from IQE, but even if they do not, it's excellent news that GaN on Silicon power devices are about to hit the market. And this is why they will make inroads into a massive potential market. IQE generate no revenue at this point from this market, but will very soon. | poombear
01/5/2017 21:58 | Meiji With you on CPX. Just not clear on the barrier to entry for competition. | tonsil |
