10/6/2013 20:42 | All in all not a bad finish,Barclays offered me full whack this morning. Was hoping for 9p on a sale price of £30m. IPSA in a decent position now going forward,Newcogen profit making asset running at 25% capacity, debt all but gone. IPSA can focus their attentions on Newcogen. 5p-7p not out of the question, have to wait and see what the markets think they're worth, after todays delayed start. Not sure i know what IPSA are worth, going to put a sell order in for 5p tomorrow, see what happens. Close scrutiny of the deal is required, although initially seems to be a good deal for IPSA and added some value to the company's future. All they need now is a fertilizer plant in the middle of nowhere to ramp up the juice at Newcogen. FFS. | b1llyboy

10/6/2013 08:46 | South African power firm IPSA (LON:IPSA) has agreed the sale of its two remaining turbines to its related party Rurelec (LON:RUR). Latin-America focused Rurelec will pay a total of £16.1 million for the Siemens Westinghouse 701 DU turbines. The completion of the sale means IPSA reduces its debt by around £10.9 million, the firm said. It is currently reliant on the continuing co-operation of its creditors. In particular, it has loans totalling around £6.3 million, which need to be repaid on or before June 27 this year. IPSA chairman Richard Linnell said: "Reaching an agreement to sell the Turbines allows IPSA to progress its business in southern Africa once released from its significant burden of debt. It is a major step forward for IPSA, although working capital will remain tight for the foreseeable future." The initial consideration is for around £11.9 million and will be funded through the issue of around 95.4 mln Rurelec shares at 12.5 pence each. FFS!!!!!WHATS GIONG ON!!!!! Eight million will be placed with Sterling Trust with the £1 mln in cash payable within 30 days to IPSA. Over 78.9 mln Rurelec shares are to be applied to discharge the majority of IPSA's key creditors. As a result, creditors, holding around £9.9 million of outstanding loans, have each agreed to accept Rurelec Shares and cancel their loans to IPSA in full. In addition over 8 mln shares will be issued to IPSA directly. The balance of the consideration - around £4.2 million will be paid in cash. In a separate statement, AIM-quoted Rurelec said it planned to install the turbines in its new 255 MW open cycle greenfield gas fired power plant -the Ilapa project - in Chile. It also announced on Monday that it is to buy one of the UK's leading power developers and power plant operators - IPC - for £4 million. It is issuing 32 mln new shares to Sterling Trust and Technology Finance Ltd - the sole shareholders of IPC. In all, covering the IPC and IPSA deals, Rurelec plans to issue 132 mln shares at 12.5 pence each - a 1% discount to Friday's closing price - for around £16.5 mln. "Once completed, the acquisition of IPC and the Turbines will accelerate Rurelec's organic growth and increase Rurelec's global footprint, it said. | sir leonardo

10/6/2013 08:03 | This is very interesting....... "Rurelec PLC (AIM: RUR), the electricity utility company focused on the ownership and operation of power generation plants in Latin America, is pleased to announce that it has today entered into conditional agreements to acquire (1) The Independent Power Corporation PLC ("IPC") and (2) two TurboCare (ex FiatAvio) TG50D5 gas turbines and ancillary equipment (the "Turbines") from IPSA Group PLC ("IPSA")." | substp

10/6/2013 07:37 | It's not everyday you can get rid of debt by issuing shares in another company. They've even managed the trick of issuing 8m shares for cash in rur. I guess someone thinks rur is going to get their big pay day soon. Pity ipsa doesn't end up with a few more shares in rur to own themselves. | godolphin

22/5/2013 22:05 | Patience young padawan,we need to get the 12 finals cleared, depreciating assets etc. My guess is after the finals have been approved in June. Power grid in SA will be under severe shortage as the winter takes grip and those cold southern hemisphere winter nights kick in. IPSA are holding all the cards now,and are holding out for the top dollar. Sale imminent, expect huge tree shake prior. If there is no sale by July end then I'm out................. Just keep your pretty head low. :] | b1llyboy |
