Chunky trades at the close. Hopefully a breakout on the cards.

NASDAQ listing more likely imo, they should hurry up to capitalise on current generous valuations. Dividend unlikely as there's a big pipeline of follow on and new investments. That is the purpose of the company after all.

Illumina now worth $75bn. What price ONT? Still think a possible SPAC target

I think they will do a special divi to shareholders and also announce that ONT plans to IPO. Either would put a rocket booster under the shares

Would love to know what they have on the horizon to invest in, the level of cash makes them very useful.

Reckon this will pop nicely when annual NAV comes out. Discount is way too big as shareholder overhang clears

b/f, IPGroup have reduced their holdings in the US from 80% to 61.3%, whilst increasing the nav.

The recent ACT rns IPGroup diluted from 21.4% to 18.06%

This dilution and consequent reduction of risk is a common theme since management started changing their style approx 18 months ago.

Who is the new 'US blue chip institutional investor"? Find this press release very underwhelming. It would be great to know the names of the the co-investors in IPO's North American platform. It might help reassure UK investors that IPO's management is capable of attracting top class investors as co-investors in its investment ideas.

IP Group plc - IP Group, Inc. raises additional $50.0m (£36.5m*) of funding

IP Group plc, the developer of intellectual property-based businesses, is delighted to announce that IP Group, Inc., its North American platform, has secured an additional $50.0m (£36.5m*) of funding, including $40.0m from a new US blue-chip institutional investor. IP Group plc committed $10.0m of funding and now has a 61.3% interest in the North American platform. This brings the total funds raised by the team over the past twelve months to $63.5m, including $15.0m from IP Group plc. This additional funding is consistent with the Group's strategy of financing IP Group, Inc. alongside third-party strategic investors. The funds will support the continued growth of the platform's maturing portfolio as well as its pipeline of new opportunities.

hashertu, we will know when we get the update to end of 2020.

It's about a month away based on last year, but could appear anytime in theory.

Bamboo. If you are referring to the 2 x £113m awards, the sums are mind boggling.
Time will undoubtedly tell us if our guess is close to the mark or not.

hashertu, I thought the same at first, but the date and detail of the two very large orders is different.

I guess these are likely to be 'call off' orders, so a regular supply of machines and consumables over a certain amount of time, depending on the needs of supply and demand.

Bamboo. Re Bidstats.
Any advice on how to interpret the information there?
Just based on value/timing, it looks like there is some duplication there, or reporting of one event at different stages of the project.
TIA

Bb2, Evonetix (part of Grow portfolio) is one in UK.
Applications in many aras from paint, cosmetics, agri and research.
There was a Nanalyze article that started my interest and holding Grow.

Hauser, an ARM founder (BBC micro etc), reckoned Evonetix would be massive in time. The whole area will be.

p1nk, re 857, do you have any good resources for looking into synthetic biology?

What are the potential applications? Are there any companies already in the field?

My guess with ONT is that if this is something that they are going to explore, they will likely do it in partnership, in the same way as they are with liquid biopsy and Cyclomics , and Covid testing with Sourcebio.

The x4 mobile nanopore labs is just a pilot scheme. As studies now demonstrate effective accuracy in the field, could get rolled out further and in other countries. The problems caused by new COVID variants have highlighted the importance of COVID sequencing, another UK success as well as vaccine roll out.

How do you close the loop on synthesized DNA to make sure what you synthesize is what you intended? It needs a sequencer to check the synthesized output.

Ox Nano would look well placed to fill that role or they themselves look to synthesis too. Could Ox Nano tech be turned to synthesis? Is there much of a market to address there, small compared to POC but in time will be large.

Re, ONT. We know that there have been major steps forward in accuracy of reads over the last 18 months. Now many researchers and others [investors?] are looking forward to the outcome of the investigation led by the Long-read RNA-seq Genome Annotation Assessment Project (LRGASP) Consortium. This appears to be a long read head-to-head test between ONT, Pac-bio and others. Illumina not involved as I think they are mainly focussed on high accuracy short reads.

IPO could do with looking to synthetic biology too. DNA synthesis.
