Did anyone hear the interview with John Bell this morning on COVID testing, R4? Tune into it. And listen particularly carefully to the bit towards the end, when he's talking about the ill-advised *Moonshot*, and possible testing platforms.

lasata, CE is a common standard used on all sorts of electrical and other equipment and products. It means certain regulations for health and safety etc have been adhered to during design and manufacture. It is often seen on medical equipment. At its root is a duty of care that goods should perform the task for which they are produced and that they should be fit for purpose. There is loads on the net about it. We are discussing CE in relation to the new CV19 diagnostics being produced by ONT

Chart looking better. CE marks take around 6-8 weeks. The process was started approx 3/8/2020, so news could be soon, as we are approaching the six week mark now.

Bruce, The CE mark is being fast tracked, but I don't know when they will get the green light, but it should be very soon. UK govt can legitimately buy now, but the rest of Europe will need the rubber stamp. Good pick up in the price today.

Hi Bamboo, Yes indeed, and thanks for reminding. A brief google finds this, concerning the infamous *Moonshot* towards getting universal testing "Finally, private sector organisations would be empowered to deliver testing in workplaces. Beyond saliva testing, which has not yet been proved to work although it is promising, moonshot depends on a new generation of rapid antigen tests becoming available. The DHSC has already contracted to buy some of them off the drawing board. It signed a deal with Oxford Nanopore, a young biotech company spun off from Oxford University, for a rapid test that can be turned around in 90 minutes before it had even gained its CE mark." I haven't sold yet. hxxps://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/what-is-no-10s-moonshot-covid-testing-plan-and-is-it-feasible/ar-BB18T9C3 ----------- bamboo212 Sep '20 - 14:07 - 521 of 522 0 0 0 Hi Bruce, I agree the last six weeks have seemed a bit of a drag, but I would urge you to look into some of the detail surrounding the C19 LAMP test, that has been published. --------------

Hi Bruce, I agree the last six weeks have seemed a bit of a drag, but I would urge you to look into some of the detail surrounding the C19 LAMP test, that has been published. Simply put, it looks to me like LAMP is not only being used for swab and saliva in its own right, but it is so accurate and reliable, that it is also being used to validate, or otherwise, the alternate methods of C19 tests! It is obvious that there will be no one test that is outright winner in the govt evaluation that is currently under way, but it has to mean that ONT is certain to be chosen for a substantial part of the new testing regime.

I'm in danger of losing patience with this one. I always knew it wouldn't do an AVCT, but there doesn't appear to have been any real momentum to speak of from its key stake in Oxford Nano. Now if Nano were listed, I might just ditch IPO and buy that instead.

rambutan, I have had a very prompt reply from IR. They included a screenshot of page 32 of the recent hy2020 results which lists significant shareholders over 2%, as of 30/6/2020 Https://www.ipgroupplc.com/~/media/Files/I/IP-Group-V2/documents/investor-relations/ipg-hy20-results-presentation.pdf Aberforth does not appear on the list, so I have forwarded my enquiry to them for clarification.

bamboo2, I would be very surprised if that is correct. They are old style value income investors. IPO would blow up their portfolio models!

I saw this on the FT Equities page under Institutional Shareholders. Aberforth Partners LLP AS OF 02 AUG 2020 161.90m 15.24% I can't remember seeing the name before, although I could easily have got mixed up with other holdings. I can't seem to find a recent holdings rns. Anyone able to shed any light? There have been numerous large transfers of shares that have not resulted in a buyers rns over the last six to eight months. We do have quite a few rns on the sale side from Invesco, whom we know is struggling to raise capital for redemptions.
