15/1/2018 20:38 | Encouraging rise today despite carillion collapse and ftse decline. Have invested significantly here as feel the Board of IRV have a lot more integrity than a certain other EX company. Hoping they do the right thing and suspend the Dividend for as long as it takes to strengthen the Balance Sheet. This should'nt take too long given less cut-throat competition and more available contracts tendered/negotiated at profitable margins. I think the B.O.D have a great window of opportunity to transform us into a company 'FIT FOR GROWTH'. This is a possible 3 or 4 bagger at least in a couple of years IMHO | da vinci1
15/1/2018 10:09 | Wallywoo you are correct. Particularly on CLLN having nothing of value to sell! IRV on the road to recovery, it won't be a painfree experience but it will come back stronger with a more rigid and focussed Management Team who are unlikely to take it into unknown waters i.e. EfW type contracts. | the juggler
15/1/2018 10:00 | good post Juggler, IRV problems all stem from their main partner in the EfW contracts going bust. They were forced to find and finance the furnace / engineering themselves. Although unfortunate, the govn't would be impressed how they handled it and provided the contracts anyway. They can now move on with some very profitable bits (engineering services company provide £50M a year profit). CllN, had problems and holes all over the place, it was hard to find a profitable bit (otherwise they would of sold it!). Brokers all have this as a hold or buy, institutions have by and large been adding over the last 6 months. You just cant compare. ps I believe CLLN provide contract catering and FM for 900 schools. IRV are 2nd biggest in this market providing for 700!! | wallywoo
15/1/2018 09:07 | Topvest! What a silly man you are. IRV Have won £938m Government Contracts in last 12 months. They have just one issue the Energy from Waste Contract and that will be all squared away in H2. If you are so convinced this is going bust then please open your short today. I will along with others here will sit back and watch you crisp. | the juggler
15/1/2018 08:59 | Interserve are in trouble as well. Can't see them getting any new contracts given their woeful balance sheet. They need recapitalising. | topvest
15/1/2018 08:31 | Losses you are correct. Every cloud has a silver lining. | the juggler
15/1/2018 08:24 | I think it should be good for us... more future contracts coming this way due to less competition.Sad though for everyone involved in clln | losses
15/1/2018 08:14 | Cheer up cfc1 IRV are very different to CLLN. They appear to be honest every step of the way to their recovery. Not hiding any issues and the greater part of the business is sustainable. Take yourself down to Waterloo for a lunchtime pint if in any doubt! | the juggler
15/1/2018 08:05 | Carillion into administration now that has rattled me re Interserve. Was watching that for possible knockon to Interserve. | cfc1
14/1/2018 21:17 | No worse than Balfour Beatty were topvest and they've recovered ok. I just can't see the government allowing CLLN to go pop with all the government contracts they have but it looks like investors will be wiped out in any arrangement agreed. | warranty
13/1/2018 11:42 | hxxps://shorttracker | obiwoncanary
13/1/2018 10:22 | obi-where do you find out that info? | cfc1
13/1/2018 07:46 | Is anyone else surprised by the shorts that are still open. Increased to 9% now. I would have thought these would have closed by now. | obiwoncanary
12/1/2018 13:56 | I doubt CLLN will survive seeing latest news. No I think it unlikely that IRV will take on any of CLLNs contracts unless they are guaranteed to be profitable i.e. Underwritten by the Govt. CLLN have been purchasing turnover for too long and now the chickens are coming home to roost. Not just for CLLN but for the schools and hospitals they are maintaining. What an awful mess. | the juggler
12/1/2018 13:49 | Surely this could be an opportunity for irv to take on some of clln service contracts? I’ve sold out 75% of my stake to allow the dust to settle. Will be buying back in ASAP | obiwoncanary
12/1/2018 13:13 | obi..yes just read that..it wont help the sector if they do go into administration. WIll certainly 'wobble' Interserve share price SO I am watching that carefully. Still share price seems to be holding up despite news. Carillion also appointed a new CEO recently as did INterserve. SO what exactly have these CEO's agreed to in order to take roles. BOth will be in post regardless and probably have packages that reflect restructure, admininstration and new co awards if the worst happens! | cfc1
12/1/2018 12:17 | I take that back. Sky news says administrators lined up for Carillion | obiwoncanary
12/1/2018 12:07 | What is a DFE? | obiwoncanary
12/1/2018 11:55 | I agree CLLN will survive but not sure in what form. The banks may take a DFE which would pretty much wipe out private investors instead of an expensive rights issue. Either way I can't see them being allowed to fail due to the significant government contracts they have. Hopefully survival will be good for IRV also but we should know more later today. | warranty
12/1/2018 08:15 | I feel the state of Carillion is priced into current share price and a positive outcome for Carillion will give us a lift too. No way will Carillion go under. Huge rights issue to gov in my opinion | obiwoncanary
11/1/2018 23:42 | I am quite concerned that Carillion will cause a setback for the whole Sector because I think it is finished. | the juggler
11/1/2018 22:48 | CLLN meeting with their bankers tomorrow, surely a positive reception can only be good for IRV in their own discussions? | warranty |
