Internal news from the MD of construction Gordon Kew. "Dear All, Further to recent trading update, i have held various conference calls with the board and business unit directors to provide some further detail and communicate what steps we need to take as a business in the short term. Share prices fell after thursdays trading state. Cant read too much into this, what we can do is help to rebuild confidence. I should stress that the announcement highlighted poor trading only i.e. we are likely not to meet current expectations. This is not a disaster and something that we can, and will, recover from. There are parts of our group .... trading well. Unfortunately, we still have headwinds in other areas alongside the on going challenge in building out our energy from waste portfolio. In the short term we need to re-double focus on cash management.... we are reviewing all spend to see where we can improve our cash position...action plans have been requested from all business units.. Alongside controlling expenditure, we must ensure valuations (requests for payments) are robust, progressed .... clients must be encouraged to make sure all payments are on time... More communcations will follow from group... any questions ask... I would like to end by noting that Interserve is, and remains, a great company.
