The BOD are pretty downbeat here but could be worth a punt

As a going concern - this looks v interesting at these levels -

ADVFN have assets in XS of 20p? A potential bid target from these levels?

What is the asset value here?

Thanks sg31, I still see more value in the company as a going concern rather than writing off an investment. Surely, as China has no ferrochrome, securing raw materials for the future, no matter how far off this may be before needed, it may still be needed. Agreed that the China has plenty of FC but the majority of the ore comes from SA who have been unable to beneficiary due to electricity constraints. With the first part of the Medupi power station due to come online next month and as other stages of this and other projects are completed the view to exporting ore for quick revenue may change. Just a thought. Holding a massive useless baby here and probably clutching at straws. Have ploughed another load of cash into this to double my holding in the event we get bought as with what I have spent here the gamble was worth it. I a admit, a sale is probably the best to hope for. This is a gamblers stock at these prices and the current cash situation but good luck to you and all if you are still holding. The 16th of September may be the final day if we make it that far that is!!!

JISCO bought their stake during a period when there was a shortage of supply. The intention was to be able to secure supplies in the future if need be.

Now there are abundant supplies and the investment is of negligible value they wouldn't really give much thought to IFL.

The Chinese invested in a lot of resource companies at that time quite a few have gone under.

With regard to the possibility of this company going bust, does anyone have any views on how JISCO, a 29% shareholder, in the top 500 companies in China, a buyer of ferrochrome with strategic interests in IFL, it's furnaces and it's millions of tonnes of chrome ore, would just let this company fail? for the sake of a few million pounds? Doesn't make sense to me, any thoughts?

The management would probably claim this is good news

'Impact of' Strike Action
IFM furnaces had to intermittently lower production as a result of labour unrest (workers employed by the contractor going on strike). The disruption was roughly
3 days worth of missed shipping schedules which has affected the plc's liquidity.
The contractor has now managed to staff their operations so that it can continue.
The bad news RNS was the 'Strike Action' one on Monday morning although it seems
they forgot to issue that, waiting until it was over before informing the market.

Safman I remember buying Corus at 3p sold before the high wish I had held though ,don't think this company will hang around that long though for us to benefit.

Many years ago.. anyone remember British steel Corus..

In 2003, that also suffered a very difficult situation, where the share price tumbled to around 3p.. it was sold a good few years later at 150p.. or approx

Obviously that was a recovery year, and a bull market followed to around mid 2007..

I'm not speculating that anything of such will happen here, but IFL do have assets, and I wonder if a bigger player will take a long term view with the current market cap of £4.8mill..

High risk with sentiment.. although there could be high reward for new shareholders..

But Gark that comes with its own risks and complications. The current MCAP is saying that they're going to the wall, so an ideal time to swoop in and grab it.

I would wait for them to go bust then buy the assets.

It is not without its risks.. but someone with deep pocket could potentially make a bid for the entire operations..

With a market cap of around £4.3mill, its assets and debt.. it could be an interesting play..

Former FTSE 250 Company..

I reckon its certainly worth a punt at these levels even with all the geopolitical issues at stake..

Very large number of small sells pushing price down. So either an over invested amateur or very poor execution institution is selling. Positive is - price is responding to visible selling volume, not the usual take down on no volume where someone knows more than you do.Difficult to see why anyone is surprised by the report - China is slowing and the ferrochrome price has been weak. What planet has this seller been living on?!

Thanks Gark. It was a small punt really so I didn't get hit too bad but have watched it all the way down recently from 10p. I even averaged down I think. Just a horrendous share and it has fallen further since I sold. I suspect most people have written this off and as I say it's priced to go bust!
