21/8/2015 13:41 | The BOD are pretty downbeat here but could be worth a punt | ryan83
21/8/2015 13:39 | As a going concern - this looks v interesting at these levels - ADVFN have assets in XS of 20p? A potential bid target from these levels? | tomboyb
21/8/2015 13:31 | What is the asset value here? | tomboyb
20/8/2015 19:24 | Thanks sg31, I still see more value in the company as a going concern rather than writing off an investment. Surely, as China has no ferrochrome, securing raw materials for the future, no matter how far off this may be before needed, it may still be needed. Agreed that the China has plenty of FC but the majority of the ore comes from SA who have been unable to beneficiary due to electricity constraints. With the first part of the Medupi power station due to come online next month and as other stages of this and other projects are completed the view to exporting ore for quick revenue may change. Just a thought. Holding a massive useless baby here and probably clutching at straws. Have ploughed another load of cash into this to double my holding in the event we get bought as with what I have spent here the gamble was worth it. I a admit, a sale is probably the best to hope for. This is a gamblers stock at these prices and the current cash situation but good luck to you and all if you are still holding. The 16th of September may be the final day if we make it that far that is!!! | crossdresser
20/8/2015 17:43 | JISCO bought their stake during a period when there was a shortage of supply. The intention was to be able to secure supplies in the future if need be. Now there are abundant supplies and the investment is of negligible value they wouldn't really give much thought to IFL. The Chinese invested in a lot of resource companies at that time quite a few have gone under. | sg31
20/8/2015 16:27 | With regard to the possibility of this company going bust, does anyone have any views on how JISCO, a 29% shareholder, in the top 500 companies in China, a buyer of ferrochrome with strategic interests in IFL, it's furnaces and it's millions of tonnes of chrome ore, would just let this company fail? for the sake of a few million pounds? Doesn't make sense to me, any thoughts? | crossdresser
19/8/2015 18:27 | The management would probably claim this is good news 'Impact of' Strike Action IFM furnaces had to intermittently lower production as a result of labour unrest (workers employed by the contractor going on strike). The disruption was roughly 3 days worth of missed shipping schedules which has affected the plc's liquidity. The contractor has now managed to staff their operations so that it can continue. The bad news RNS was the 'Strike Action' one on Monday morning although it seems they forgot to issue that, waiting until it was over before informing the market. | bam bam rubble
19/8/2015 17:45 | More bad news with strikes at the plant!!!Does this company ever give any good news ? | bucko1066
19/8/2015 09:58 | Safman I remember buying Corus at 3p sold before the high wish I had held though ,don't think this company will hang around that long though for us to benefit. | wskill
19/8/2015 09:21 | lol @wigwammer ;) Hi Jailbird - How's tricks? | holmess
19/8/2015 09:10 | The shares are around a penny. When do you expect penny share investors to turn up? | wigwammer
18/8/2015 22:44 | Recognise some of penny share buyers here.Funny thing they have turned up together | jailbird
18/8/2015 13:03 | Many years ago.. anyone remember British steel Corus.. In 2003, that also suffered a very difficult situation, where the share price tumbled to around 3p.. it was sold a good few years later at 150p.. or approx Obviously that was a recovery year, and a bull market followed to around mid 2007.. I'm not speculating that anything of such will happen here, but IFL do have assets, and I wonder if a bigger player will take a long term view with the current market cap of £4.8mill.. High risk with sentiment.. although there could be high reward for new shareholders.. saffy.. | safman
18/8/2015 12:55 | Perhaps, still own some so easy either way. | gark
18/8/2015 12:48 | But Gark that comes with its own risks and complications. The current MCAP is saying that they're going to the wall, so an ideal time to swoop in and grab it. | holmess
18/8/2015 12:46 | I would wait for them to go bust then buy the assets. | gark
18/8/2015 11:29 | It is not without its risks.. but someone with deep pocket could potentially make a bid for the entire operations.. With a market cap of around £4.3mill, its assets and debt.. it could be an interesting play.. saffy.. | safman
18/8/2015 10:47 | looks like the tide has turned | empirestate
18/8/2015 10:45 | A few buyers aside from me today it seems. Managed to pick up 1.5m at .82 but now nothing on offer..... | holmess
18/8/2015 10:39 | Former FTSE 250 Company.. I reckon its certainly worth a punt at these levels even with all the geopolitical issues at stake.. saffy.. | safman
18/8/2015 10:34 | Very large number of small sells pushing price down. So either an over invested amateur or very poor execution institution is selling. Positive is - price is responding to visible selling volume, not the usual take down on no volume where someone knows more than you do.Difficult to see why anyone is surprised by the report - China is slowing and the ferrochrome price has been weak. What planet has this seller been living on?! | wigwammer
18/8/2015 10:09 | must be very close to the dust settling. alot less sellers around at the moment. | empirestate
18/8/2015 09:45 | In for a little nibble. Looks oversold over the short term to me. | holmess
17/8/2015 16:21 | Thanks Gark. It was a small punt really so I didn't get hit too bad but have watched it all the way down recently from 10p. I even averaged down I think. Just a horrendous share and it has fallen further since I sold. I suspect most people have written this off and as I say it's priced to go bust! | mach100
17/8/2015 14:04 | Sorry to hear but in your camp on this one. | gark |
