Sold out today and pleased to get this one off my books. I can't hold on for a recovery that is never happening. Best of luck to you holders but I would never invest myself in this company. A painful lesson!

Amazingly IFL's house broker Numis still recommends a buy today with a target of 15p! How can anyone take these brokers seriously!

"Numis reiterates buy on International Ferro Metals, target cut from 20p to 15p"

I don't as just dialled in. There were questions as to why they were not seeking more from Bank of China as likely to need 700-800mn ZAR to get through next year.

Good luck Benboy, I was in same boat but couldn't take risk of it going bust and think that is a serious concern as can't see input prices going down in SA and Fcr will not recover in near term. Kept a bit back just in case but I don't like how management have behaved recently and the call was awful hence my decision to bail. The analysts present doubted their ability to carry on as a going concern.

There is no question it will turn around longer term. But will IFL survive until then? It As a banker how would you feel about renewing their facility? I'm still in and making a very serious 6 figure loss. I really hope it doesn't go bust but the odds are quite high hence the selling and 1p valuation. Serious challenge ahead for Chris Jordaan and team. I'd like to buy a million or two just to average down but even at 1p they can fall 90% so I'm just going to sit on the nightmare I already own and keep my fingers crossed for a recovery.

The selling here is relentless the last two days, has everybody given up hope? As far as I can tell the company did not say they are going bust, just that it will be difficult to make a profit due to pressure on price of what people will pay for commodities..... Could it be worth a roll of the dice for a longer term view of 5 years - all assuming the working capital facility is renewed?

Bank of China's unwillingness to move its debt out of current liability status
is casually referenced as "the annual renewal". Dud management on display here.

is the mcap really GBP 5 million? should be a bounce here soon, once the dust settles and the sell side pressure has stopped.

Well, this used to be a former FTSE 250 company..

I wonder if there may be a big player that would be willing to take this on..

Its assets certainly supercede the liabilities, however in a very difficult market..

saffy..

"The ZAR500 million working capital facility with Bank of China expires on 16 September 2015. The annual renewal process has commenced and the Company is confident that the facility can be extended. The Company continue to investigate additional forward sales contracts as a way of strengthening the liquidity over the short term."

"Although mining at Lesedi showed a decline, post period results are improving as the investments in the underground mobile equipment and conveyor systems reaches completion. The ferrochrome market remains weak with prices expected to edge downwards, albeit the Company's marketing strategy allows it to place its production effectively despite the challenging global market conditions."

I'd be very worried here if I was still holding.

Been in and out of IFL for over 5 years now, and I don't recall management ever giving such a negative outlook. They usually admit things are not great, but also give some cautiously optimistic jam tomorrow statement.

However, this mornings statement has none of that. It's all doom and gloom! They're basically saying there'll be no price recovery this year or next year and they are screwed as a result.

With so many variables against them, hard to see how they can now survive.

Wish I could say with confidence Gark that they will survive.

I think demand is suppressed. The price leaves no room for profit and looks like reducing. Costs are barely manageable. The facility is right on the top end, with no room for wriggling.

The only saving grace we have a well run committed management that is working to keep it afloat. Any exodus particularly Chris Jordaan will likely be a lost battle so hopefully they continue with what is a very difficult job.

No other option but to hold and hope for the best. Too exposed to this one unfortunately.

True. The borrowings were only down because of a pre sale agreement though. Winter is the worst period for costs though.

Very ugly. At least borrowings came down. They should just shut down furnaces and sell basic ore. Might be better off.

Not a lot they can do. The cost side is largely beyond their control. The price side is totally beyond their control.

Nothing in there looking even remotely hopeful.

Best scenario is we dont go bust. Staying solvent though can only get more challenging.

Will I live to see a recovery? It's a long way off!!
