As revealed by the Wall Street Journal, Pfizer has developed a special transport box the size of a suitcase, packed with dry ice and installed with GPS trackers, which can keep up to 5,000 doses of the vaccine at the right temperature for 10 days, as long as it remains unopened. The boxes are also reusable.

The vaccine can survive for a further five days once thawed - plenty of time.

2ND VACCINE COMING. MODERNA TO RELEASE PHASE 3 DATA IN THE COMING DAYS - CNBC

Moderna is expected to release crucial data in coming days from a late-stage trial that will show whether its coronavirus vaccine is effective.

Investors anticipate Moderna’s vaccine will be highly effective, especially after Pfizer said its vaccine was 90% effective, said Brad Loncar, a biotech investor.
Moderna’s product, like Pfizer’s, is using messenger RNA, or mRNA, technology.

Perhaps tomorrow or a repeat of Pfizer - Monday??

JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes confirmed yesterday that the carrier is still on track for its 2021 transatlantic single-aisle long-haul launch. Initially intended for the beginning of next year, with the arrival of JetBlue’s new A321neoLR aircraft, the airline is pushing its routes from Boston Logan and New York JFK to an unconfirmed London airport until summer.

When interviewed yesterday by John Strickland at this year’s virtual version of the World Travel Market Conference, JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes confirmed that the airline would indeed launch its routes to London in 2021.

1. Doctors surgeries and many smaller hospitals do not have the capabilities of handling liquid nitrogen. Roll out is going to be very difficult.

2. It is known to be a very fragile vaccine - easily damaged and made unusable.

3. Requires 2 doses.

4. pfizer saying can only produce sufficient vaccine for 25mln people (50mln doses) in 2021.

It doesn't, liquid nitrogen stored.

pfizer vaccine must be stored at -70C

not sure how that complicates any roll out process

Extract..

The owner of British Airways flew to the top of the FTSE 100 leaderboard yesterday as Goldman Sachs set out how it could be worth four times its present value once the headwinds of Covid-19 ease.

Analysts at the American bank did a “sum-of-the-parts” calculation on International Consolidated Airlines Group, working out what each bit of the business is worth and adding it up. In IAG’s case, it has 200 fully owned aircraft, which Goldman reckons would still fetch about £3.3 billion. Then there’s the Avios loyalty programme, said to be worth at least £1.8 billion and perhaps up to £4.5 billion.
