I do not advocate selling shares and I wouldn't sell if I was to make a loss on them, taking a profit is different, but also I wouldn't buy any in this stage of the market. Lots here say it's a great price to buy at, I am just a contrary view.

Shorters contribute nothing to the value of a business.
In situations such as this , they appear to actively damage it.

Best short on the FTSE 100, investors hate uncertainty and when a company says they can't give guidance for the future and what impact Coronavirus will have, that's not good. I shorted at 602p looking for 350p if this Coronavirus drags on. But if it's easing less cases or vaccine, then one almighty bounce in shareprice.

Ham......why are you posting if you do not hold , or trade IAG shares ?
I would ask the same question of other posters who are in the same position.

It seems we have a group of posters here who don't hold IAG shares and are just interested in trying to talk the share price down , or scare others into selling , or not buying.

I agree it could be bottom 400p or 40p. No one knows.

All I know is that artificially trying to stoke the market will mean even bigger falls. By 3pm everything will be red and honey moon period of rate cuts by governments will not trick investors

Markets don't go up in a straight line, similarly they don't go down in a straight line.
Who knows where this is heading???

350p a certainty in my view, if this Coronavirus goes on. I think years earnings gone if this drags on.

Artificially trying revive the market is like trying to cover a crack on the wall with selotape.

Maybe a bounce today but then the downward spiral will continue

I don't agree with dropping your pants on interest rates now, you need some ammunition available when a recession hits. Stupid at this stage.

Global central banks will provide market support

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. GS, -1.80% economists wrote Sunday that they expect the Fed to cut interest rates by 50 basis points soon, perhaps even before their next scheduled meeting March 16-17. That move would be followed by another 50-basis-point cut in the second quarter, they said, and would be part of a coordinated effort by the world’s central banks to cut interest rates.

The US is BA's biggest market And if passenger loads fall to here then it will have a bigger impact on the group .. keep an eye on USA New York state confirmed its first positive coronavirus test, Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Sunday night, as the U.S. government said it would start screening travelers for the virus and hike production of protective masks.

A lot of companies will start telling their employees to work from home this week.

I think my employer will tell me to work from home before mid March.

It’s over for those that think a share or bond has any value.

Companies go bust and bond holders default. ( inc government bonds )

Very simple to understand.
