Lots of paranoia on here. Travel internationally 4+ times a month. No zombies/apocalypse noted. A lot of shares now looking oversold.

NHS, how many children have been globally hospitalised as a result of NCov? If you do your research you will find next to none. Like the Spanish flu mainly affected well middle aged people, this is primarily affecting those over 60, many with pre existing conditions. They are the facts so please stop spouting nonsense. The shooters will have their fun for the next few weeks, the long term fundamentals and dynamic nature of their operation put IAG in a great place to recover well from this.

I agree with all the posts about the world in not going to end and this virus will get dealt with in time, however this board is about IAG and in the short term their business is going to get hit hard.

I'm surprised the price has held up so well. When you consider small profit warnings can hit a company by 15-20%, what's happening here could really impact profits this year. No one knows how long this will go on for, so it would be sensible to move out of stocks directly hit, into others that are not going to be so adversely affected, but have also seen big share price falls. IMO of course.

NHS in another world (mindful I have many chums working across the Far East including China), the world really isn’t ending and the Zombie apocalypse hasn’t yet begun. For the majority of the productive population, it’s no worse than a bad cold or standard dose of flu. Typical rabble rousing by the media isn’t helping.

If they stop traavel and lockdown airports, then airlines would of course really get hit hard.

One contrarian view. IAG have a huge vulture fund in an industry running on paper thin margins. Yes, what is going on has the potential to blow up. However, this has more potential to take out a few more of the competition. Flybe and Norwegian spring to mind. Norwegian have a large number of leased airplanes that are going to sell for a song if this carries on. Not to mention transfer of market share. Couple of points. China seem to be at the tail end of the exponential curve and its only affected those with poor health. Western medicine and procedures will see this off fairly quickly. Mort rates for non immune suppressed and aged people are below 0.2%. If you have ever been to China you will realise there are lots of people with respiratory illnesses Due to poor health standards and smog. If you look who has been affected in the west, again it’s been boat loads full of god’s waiting room.
