After Boris' s speech, it's looking like exiting the EU by end of this month is quite likely. Markets may.not like that.

I'm sure Monty will see the article below in the usual way, only seeing what they want to see and how great it is for BA business. However, looking at the big picture, this unrest amongst pilots in various airlines would lead me to suspect that as a community, they believe that they are underpaid.Fundamentally, BA as the UK flag carrier airline, I would expect the pilots salaries to be the greatest by a reasonable margin to attract experience, skills and loyalty. This article would suggest not, which for a once is actually in line with my research, that BA pilots spend more time/days at work than comparable colleagues in other airlines, for less than a pro-rated uplift.Virgin I believe are only contracted to 740 or 750 flying hours, whereas BA work to the maximum 900. That's 20% more work, for their pay.https://twnews.co.uk/uk-news/now-virgin-atlantic-pilots-threaten-christmas-strike-chaos-for-thousands-of-passengersAll IMHO and DYOR

Earth to Monty, come in Monty....
IAG have oil 90% hedged. So short term lowering of prices means sweet FA to IAG, but it does help all the other airlines who hedge less.
If you are going to bang on about IAG and their protection of oil pricing hikes through their near complete hedging approach then you have to accept that it makes IAG less competitive when oil goes down.

Oil below $59 excellent. 25% of all airlines costs is oil. Bigger profits. It's a risk off day for he markets.

Dividend next month should be 15% higher when interims announced. No chance of pilot strikes, over a 20,000 grand rise offered. When some TC staff, going to food banks.

L2 buyers 2 to 1 sellers at the moment will the yanks come in at 2.30pm. It was BOA saying BUY 660p target.

Not bad at the end of the day, Dow down 200, FTSE 100 down 47 so IAG good performance, nothing goes up in a straight line.

Interesting comment;

The Bank of America strategists say European airlines in particular are priced for an outright eurozone recession.

Must be a lot of upside potential in their minds

Around 300 TC pilots looking for a job.
Ryanair asking pilots to take unpaid leave.
Glut of pilots. BA pilots no chance of a strike they have come to their senses, lucky to have a great job

Also with some TC staff saying they have to go to food banks and BA pilots not happy with a 11.5% rise plus bonus is incredible greed from BA pilots.

With BOA reinstating IAG today has a BUY target 660p. I wonder if the yanks at 2.30pm come in seeing its their bank, going to be interesting. If they follow BOA and BUY then could we see 490p?

Not long to wait for (STX) US deal either, my broker says buy/add and (SAGA) which I have done lately.

Hearing a one week strike to be announced quite soon no talks have taken place seems like the only way forwards or backwards depending who you talk to.

Air France jumped 2.3% to the top of STOXX 600,
after BofA Merrill Lynch initiated coverage on the French
carrier with a "buy." The brokerage also set "buy"
recommendations for British Airways owner IAG and Wizz
Air.

For BofAML to reinstate IAG that's excellent news and to have a BUY not even market perform, with a 660p target and also a bonus with Brent Oil under $60. Should be a good day boys.
