10/10/2019 16:13 | Thanks for the info Maywillow. Personally, I don't agree with carbon offsetting, as it doesn't deal with the crux of the problem . | m1k3y1

10/10/2019 12:08 | montyhedge...apart from a few other grumpy posters I miss your contributions...you can either take them with a pinch of salt or take some inspiration or treat as a bit of tongue in cheek. One likes a bit of fun or mischief, but we can all take our own position as we see events unfold...there are a few posters who are quite helpful, and their contributions are welcome. Again I really hope that the BALPA threat abates in a sensible compromise between them and BA, and with any settlement we would be home and hosed for 3 years, hopefully. The IAG p/e is way out of line with Ryan Air and Easyjet, and still at a discount to the likes of Air France and key US airlines. We also have the dividend return which against the global hold on interest rates remains very attractive to income seekers...that is why the major Institutions are attracted, and why the analysts are in general very supportive in their comments etc. Good wishes to all holders... Thanks maywillow for that update from London City Airport...seem most flights are OK after looking at the Airport site. | cyberian
10/10/2019 09:05 | UK drivers on Shell's loyalty scheme will soon be able to offset their environmental impact by planting more trees as Big Oil responds to fears about climate change. From next week, customers can opt into the carbon credit initiative, which will see Shell invest 10m towards the restoration of forests to atone for drivers' emissions. The plans have been criticised ahead of their launch next week as an attempt to greenwash the industry's image. - Telegraph British Airways is to offset carbon emissions for all UK domestic flights from next year as part of a wider commitment by its parent company to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Emissions from domestic BA flights will be offset by International Airlines Group investing in carbon reduction projects, including renewable energy and reforestation programmes. BA operates up to 75 UK domestic flights a day. - The Times | sarkasm
