I think WW took a stake in Nor as a pre cursor to taking the whole lot, so i'd say it was a little different to "speculating".

Exactly Monty BUT Walsh shouldn't really be speculating in other airlines shares, in the hope that they will improve. Qatar may do it but it isn't a position I would think is positive for IAG.

Revenue was up by 32% to £970 million.

Norwegian does not look good, can't see how they can survive as a stand alone company!

I definitely think it is Norwegian dragging the share price neil.
Even though there is a net benefit to IAG if Norwegians share price increases.
The downside is , of course, that there is a greater argument for Norwegian to not fail and for IAG to have to increase any offer.
Do you think it is possible that the Norwegian figures may have been massaged a bit ?
Who knows but personally, I don't think Walsh taking the inaction approach is helping the IAG share price .
After all, I don't want Walsh investing in competitor airlines in the hope that they are going to be successful !

EZJ and RYA up 2% so far , IAG static.
Norwegian seems to be acting as a drag on the IAG share price at the moment.
Walsh should either buy it or sell and take the profit.

Interesting that the rest of the sector is up this morning, even in Madrid IAG is up....yet in London IAG is down!

Dart, wow what figures, shareprice up 35%. Lets hop IAG have the same result. Airlines making lots of dosh, even Norwegian shows a profit today.

IAG H1 results only 3 weeks tomorrow, based upon Q1 and the monthly traffic STATS since....I'd expect results to be ahead of consensus!

Update I expect good, what perhaps holding IAG shareprice back are they going to bid for Norwegian, who had figures and showed a nice profit today. So traders thinking will IAG overpay. Walsh will never overpay. Take Norwegian out the picture, these would be 735p.

Makes you laugh when you read one thing saying oil could spike to 150 dollars, then the next morning you read its dropped over 5%!So much noise out there and all speculation as no-one really has a clue!

Once the momentum traders get going this will be over 715p in a blink of a eye, in my opinion. My target 840p gives a historical p.e 10, forecast p.e 9. This is good value.
