I agree Chief. A new airport fit for purpose built anywhere but Heathrow would have been ideal. The income generated from planning on the old LHR would have been in the billions.
I know LHR well and it is already over capacity. You just have to look at how many aircraft have to hold at lhr because there is no space on the ground.
The cost must be substantial and a large negative impact on the environment.

I also agree about leaders lacking vision ..........

Our leaders don't have the vision/balls to sanction another runway at Gatwick etc etc.A third runway at LHR is just a stop gap too.A Boris Island type plan was the way forward but hey ho, much to bravado for our political masters. When its full again in 20 years (if it gets built), they'll be wondering which towns to bulldoze for the 4th runway.

Agree neil but doesn't explain the drop in the days before XD.
personally I think LGW should get another runway as with other regional airports.
LHR can't cope now and won't be able to cope when it gets bigger.
Nothing will change except having a larger problem.

That's true, in fact bear raid on IAG, on 3rd runway, not for another 12 years if at all and I agree with Walsh it will never be built.

maybe Monty but no explanation for such a large drop.
it's very odd, although both EZJ and RYA are down today.
IAG starting a climb back

But good for IAG, getting more shares for buybacks, eps will improve on buybacks.
May be a ploy by Walsh to get cheaper shares in the bag for shareholders. He said won't be built. Gov said air travel set to double, so we are in a growing business at least. Bears in control at the moment though.

Oil. May. Trump. Heathrow.Small things but wild swings in the market are the norm now and little to no reason needed for it.

a drop of circa 8.5% in 3 days makes no sense whatsoever.
66p drop for a divi gain of 10p ????

Another 700k buyback yesterday. Once again, double the recent average.

When this falls it really falls! Look at the chart over the last few years. Littered with drops that look like its falling off a cliff.Fortunately, theres quite a few rapid rebounds in there too.

Probably why they stepped up the buying in the last day or so.

One thing getting a lot more shares for their money on buybacks, that increases eps.

Personally I don't have any time for Walsh.
I have met him and my views have only hardened.
As for 825........long way to go but I do see it as achievable .
Need to stop this foolishness with Trump first

Just seen the Walsh interview, we are lucky to have him as CEO came across brilliantly.
He thinks 3rd runway will never be built, other airlines won't go to Heathrow if charges to high. 825p here we come.

EZJ also but not as much

3rd runway if it ever happens at least 12 yearrs away, but bears taking advantage and killing the price down nearly 10% in three days, seems oversold
