07/8/2007 23:56 | We'll see at 8 in the morning. | paulo2
07/8/2007 23:51 | It is clearly going to be a different animal. I think they have paid too much for the Sport. The exit P/E appears to be approaching 20 bought primarily with paper with a P/E under 10. It will be interesting to see what these revenue synergies are as the circulation of the paper is a fraction of their exisiting datatbase. I don't suppose they could claim many cost synergies as only 11 people work for ITW. They say they will continue the dividend policy which has been paying out 10% at ITW. However I calculate that 80% of the post tax profit will only yield about 6% now. | kimboy2
07/8/2007 23:22 | Sullivan's not exactly severing his links with Sport Newspapers, is he? I thought he still had a holding in ITW! Smicker, congratulations on your research skills! ;-) Hope there's more information in tomorrow's RNS. | mediaking
07/8/2007 23:06 | details of the transaction | smicker
01/8/2007 11:47 | Yes, holding up very well! | diogenesj
01/8/2007 10:13 | I think we have outperformed the market..:o) Hope they dont relist anytime soon... | nurdin
30/7/2007 22:51 | Take it you work there! | paulo2
28/7/2007 09:40 | Big changes afoot at the Sport Newspaper to allow them to compete with the more mainstream Star. They're changing the paper (toning it down) to allow them to get into more outlets ... this will happen 7th Aug. | kebab77
22/7/2007 01:10 | Polythene, I have this nagging doubt in the back of my mind that Sully will buy it back in a couple of years at a fraction of the price he sold it. | paulo2
21/7/2007 21:09 | At the time of the suspension there was a newspaper story that the deal would take 3-4 weeks to sort out. so any week now I guess....... | stevie blunder
20/7/2007 18:10 | Anyone got any insight as to what this will return to the market? | vulgaris
17/7/2007 14:41 | Soon as it comes back on, I'll be shorting it. | paulo2
13/7/2007 12:53 | Anyone any insight into what's going on? If we were awash with cash and now are going to acquire an asset with earning potential, the only way is up (as the bishop said to the actress!). | polythene
05/7/2007 15:51 | I never understand why in some of these situations, it is necessary to suspend dealing while in the majority of cases the market is left to find it's own level. After all when news is released we can all make up our own minds and is that not how we became shareholders? The purpose of the LSE is to provide a market not tell us what to buy or sell and yet they are only to willing to suspend dealing on an individual companies request. I do not like holding suspended shares it gives me a queesy feeling anyone else feel the same way? | 303hound
29/6/2007 10:46 | Not much of a tip: you can't buy and you can't sell anyway. | diogenesj
28/6/2007 17:26 | Hello Porn Lovers Everything going well? | volsung
28/6/2007 17:17 | Shares magazine have this as a buy. Does anyone know the gist of the article? | dumpling
27/6/2007 17:52 | There is no way funds would do a deal with Mr Sullivan owning a majority stake. Media stocks are well sort after this will be good, very good or excellent - just relax, we can't do anything anyway. | czar
25/6/2007 14:54 | There are a few uncertainties here. With Sullivan reducing his stake, I can't see this benefiting shareholders. | dumpling
25/6/2007 13:14 | Isn't the Sport 50-50 owned by Sullivan and someone else? Could be a way to get rid of the other shareholders? | kebab77
25/6/2007 10:54 | yup thats the best. But having spoken to Andrew Fletcher just now I feel confident that the deal will be beneficial for the share holders ps ..and that Express report about £60m price tag is..how shall I put it...carp | nurdin
25/6/2007 10:49 | I think that is the point. WE don't know the t/o or profitability of that newspaper, or the strategy here. If it is only to allow someone an exit strategy then I doubt the pirce will be that good; if it is to allow for investment and deliver a bigger company with targets etc then it could be good news. BNut who's to know if SS has debt or cash even? Wait and see I suppose | silverfern
25/6/2007 10:37 | Sullivan selling his shares may be a good thing but why is buying Sports Newspapers ? | kimboy2 |
