masurenguy is right in one sense...i was not informed about the placing...dont know if that would have affected my buy decision or not..none the less this placing is simply to make great inroads into chins...great product and company and besides the placing i am happy holding and can see 80p without much problem.
as far as i am concerned the results were absolutely brilliant...debt halved...profit doubled...the time has come for this company and time scale suits me.
buzz...i have a feeling you were not told about the placing either..methinks we have a common source..lol

Yes, it looks like the previous placing at ~£1
has been completely squandered (as far as the
stated objectives at the time). This new one
looks like a giveaway...

Good news for INN. But check SMRT too. Every Jewel chipped card needs an ITSO reader and an ITSO POS (Point of Sale terminal) in order to utilise ITSO. Every ITSO reader and every ITSO POS need an ITSO Security Module (ISAM). Every ISAM is provided by SMRT..... Concessionary Bus Travel Bill less than a year away - good news for INN & SMRT - every bus will eventually need to be equipped - many with 2 readers

Jewel is Moving On in Cardiff
First ever end-to-end deployment of Jewel on ITSO scheme demonstrated at Moving on Mass Transit show in Cardiff this week

Monday 4th June, 2007

The first Jewel tickets rolled off the presses at Magnadata in Lincolnshire last week for the Cheshire Integrated Trial Scheme due to start in mid June. The trial is to run in east Cheshire and, if successful, is expected to continue indefinitely. Jewel tickets are enabled by Jewel; the 13.56Mhz, ISO 14443A - 96 bytes read/write RFID IC for mass transit "Limited Use" ticketing from Innovision Research & technology plc. Moving On Conference delegates can get a sneak preview of this world's first end-to-end ITSO implementation of Jewel in Cardiff this week.

The Jewel ticket, produced by Magnadata, to be used for the Cheshire Integrated Trial scheme is being demonstrated at the Moving On Conference in Cardiff this week until Wednesday 6th June. Delegates each have Jewel tickets in their delegate packs to try the system for themselves. It's the first time anywhere Jewel has been used "end to end" from manufacture, via encoding through to its use on the bus. All transaction data is passed through the HOPS Host Operating System and a card management system to the ITSO scheme member companies.

The Jewel RFID tickets produced by Magnadata will be rolled out on buses in the east of Cheshire, using Wayfarer Transit Systems' electronic ticketing equipment. Magnadata is the UK's largest ticket manufacturer.

Helen Mitchell, ITSO Project Manager for Cheshire County Council said, "The ITSO project continues to go from strength to strength, and the deployment of 'live' smart tickets is a significant milestone for the project, which is vital for our research into the use of low-cost card media on behalf of the Department for Transport."

"We believe limited-use smart tickets will be a significant innovation in mass transit, Jewel is able to support multiple applications on a single low-cost solution, enabling logistical, revenue tracking and infrastructure benefits across limited-use ticketing in the UK," said David Wollen, Chief Executive of Innovision Research and Technology. "The availability of standards-mandated low-cost NFC/RFID tags is a key factor in making this kind of multi-application ticketing feasible."

The main benefit of contactless smartcard-based ticketing to transport operators is a significant reduction in the high maintenance costs of magnetic stripe readers. Smart media help reduce boarding times and enable valuable data to be collected for traffic management purposes, leading in turn to better allocation of resources and improved timetabling, for example. They also reduce cash handling costs and the potential for fraud.

For users, contactless smartcard-based tickets help enable a faster, smoother and more convenient travel experience. Multi-application smart tickets could enable the travel fare and entry to an event such as a concert, football match, or tourist destination to be included on a single ticket, for example.

Many government agencies would like to see more flexible ticketing to encourage the use of public transport. Work patterns are changing – fewer and fewer people work nine to five. More sophisticated, flexible ticket types will help support these trends.

In the UK, the Department for Transport (DfT) - supported Integrated Transport Smartcard Organisation (ITSO) was set up in 1998 to establish standards for interoperable smartcard ticketing across the country's rail and bus network. Members of ITSO include the UK's regional Passenger Transport Executives (PTEs), rail and bus operators and vendors.

ITSO is designed to ensure that developing systems are interoperable through the creation and maintenance of a specification – based on relevant international standards – for secure end-to-end ticketing transactions. The UK Government has mandated that transport ticketing projects must comply with ITSO specifications in order to receive central funding.

The usual customer confidentiality agreement, nothing odd about that. Historically, INN generally do not name their customers. The 16th May 2007 'semiconductor company' deal, is another recent example. However, back to CSR. Weeks before that June 1st 2006 deal, there were rumours that INN were negotiating with CSR. The BlueTooth 2.2 spec includes NFC functionality. The industry trend is to integrate that functionality into the BlueTooth silicon, rather than have a seperate chip. So, you wouldn't buy an IC off the shelf, you would want a custom design and that is what INN can do...

KatyLied , thanks. I thought that the directors duty of care etc would mean that the 'unamed company' in the RNS was substantial and real. I did wonder why they needed to keep the name secret. Any ideas ?

Thursday 1st June, 2006... Innovision Research & Technology is pleased to announce that it has signed a significant new contract with a market leading wireless communications company for the development of an Integrated Circuit (IC) for the Near Field Communications (NFC) market. This contract is expected to be worth several million dollars to the company over the next two years...

The 'wireless company' has never been named,
but high probability is that, it is CSR...

KatyLied , Garth thanks both for your views. I see an company with cash and an interesting chart with some interesting news. The directors dont seem to be buying I think. As usual time will tell. Interesting that you mention CSR , it was one on my radar for similar reasons.
