Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) today announced that remote land-based users can look forward to enjoying all the benefits of broadband with its new Inmarsat Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN)) service, scheduled for launch at the end of 2005.

A lot of people are long from the issue price last week of £2.45, and many of the initial backers own shares from well below that.

It is hardly surprising to see some profit taking along the way, given that the rise since it listed has been rather rapid.

Hughes Network Systems Introduces New Inmarsat Mobile Satellite Terminal
SINGAPORE, (NAMC) - Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HNS) announced today that it has introduced the first Inmarsat Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) Class 1 terminal to work over the new Inmarsat I4 satellite system. Telenor Satellite Services to Provide Global IP Custom Network
OSLO, Norway, June 29, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Telenor Satellite Services announced today that it signed an agreement on June 24 with British Telecommunications to provide a global managed IP custom network over satellite to 83 European Commission embassies around the world.The four-year agreement has an estimated value of 50 million euros and includes options for service extensions. The European Commission recently selected BT as the prime provider of its global managed IP network for terrestrial and satellite communications for Commission embassies worldwide. BT will provide the terrestrial connectivity and has selected Telenor Satellite Services to deliver communications over satellite via Telenor's very small aperture terminal (VSAT) equipment. Under the terms of the agreement, Telenor will provide BT a robust set of satellite capabilities that enable the European Commission embassies to use satellite solutions as either stand-alone services or integrate them with BT's high-end MPLS-based IP VPN service. Telenor's services include the design, delivery, installation, assembly, engineering, construction and maintenance of satellite communication networks with guaranteed availability and quality of service. I don't think they invest in traditional markets. IMVVHO I think Telenor will at some stage bid for this company, they have 10% and from their website seem to be acquisitive. Just a question of time really.
