Thanks Zulfukar for alerting us to this.
From what I read not at all comfortable with what appears to be a petulant attitude from management, especially as they pride themselves on good working relationships with local authority planners.
On the basis they are going for appeal it will take 6/8 months to get a decision which will be ample time to get the permits they need for demolition-they may not need one for planning but will need a construction management plan.
It makes me uncomfortable-perhaps the Candy Brothers have egged them on.

Its a JV with 2 Directors from INL and 2 from Candy. Nothing odd at all!

My point was rather different, but maybe not expressed too well, in that in addition to the other two directors you have Inland's FD on the board of Brooklands as well which is perhaps even more interesting

INL did in fact stop the demolition once they received formal legally binding notice.

On the face of it it does look an odd thing to do but bear in mind we are not looking at Bob the builder here but a company with huge experience of such things so must have something up their sleeves,,,,,,,,one would hope anyway ! DYOR

The college plans were recommended by the planning officer so it was brave for the planning committee to vote against. They will probably win on appeal, but its a tad antagonistic to demolish. But the buildings are of no historical or other merit so can't see a problem.

Can anyone shed any light on the Brooklands College situation. INL seem to be asking for a lot of trouble which could be expensive. It is common practice for a developer to submit a very ambitious plan and, when this is refused, to come back with a more modest one which the council is happy to accept. however, to start knocking the College down when permission has been refused seems to me the quickest way further to alienate all the opposition parties.
Perhaps someone who lives in the area can give us all some information.

Bought a couple of weeks ago as I expect the results in March to show the NAV well over 90p.

Must be elections coming up this May in Spelthorne and based on a 10 minute skim of the Report I feel comfortable INL will win on appeal...surprisingly little affordable housing

mentioned by Simon Thompson in IC today - says discount to estimated NAV is "extreme". Only readable with on line subscription. In magazine on Friday.

The planning committee went against the officer who recommended for approval. They are likely to therefore have a good chance at winning an appeal.

Annoying delay though, time and expense.
