rocketblast, at midday you were saying this: "Nice time to top up before brokers update. IOG always downplay expectations so i am very positive especially with the declared 49ft gas column. Wow its 1 hight of Nelson's Column?" What's changed since midday?

I agree rnstranslator: this is becoming a big issue and with a poor RNS seems like they are hiding stuff. So sad to see this fall back with only a takeover option providing any light for the future. More negative stuff may come out impact IOG big-time...

The Harvey CPR suggests that there was 100m of updip potential from the Arco well which had 10m of gas Pay. See maps.If they got only 15m Of pay rather than 100m as mapped (plus the original10m,) it suggests either the well came in deep, and only 5m higher than the original well, or they're separate and not connected. The release is vague and so it's likely Harvey is much much smaller than expected. The fact they took 180ft of core might suggest it came in low...depends whether they cored on depth or on shows....Interesting to see if Calenergy exercise option, if not it tells you the answer.

Just reality now as IOG will struggle hence a poor RNS today. You need to be realistic...

The bond can be wiped out!! if CalEnergy is making a £40mln upfront payment, while the UK minnow will be carried for £60mln on the first phase of development and £65mln on the second. Bond may end up as vapour like the gas !! Its a shame and great disappointment for all..!!

Well we know there will be a lot of news flow over the next few weeks with bond and farmout completion prior to FID and FDP

Too risky as no clarity given by RNS, just dumped to secure my current profits. IOG not looking good unless news flow as the cant hide for 3 months with no news. I see that Arco had 30ft gas column and abandoned site....any other feedback??

I have dropped the company a line and will see what (if anything) they can say to clarify

In isolation the 49 ft gas column means little beyond the fact there is gas in the system which the company pretty much already knew from earlier drills on the block and seismic work... the key will be how the new data they have now collected impacts the wider interpretation of the field ...We know the hurdle to be commercial is very low in the hub model so hopefully CER and IOG will conclude that these is enough gas and that it can be extracted profitably so as to ensure all parties participate...

It sounds good to me as well but in isolation it's hard to decide if commercial or not. To be honest until I read 49ft in the RNS I was feeling pretty pessimistic the way it was generally worded.

Yes i agree up to 3 months But i recon it will be sooner as 49ft Gas Column is a great result so now its aligning the funding. It therefore could be done much sooner. I expect further news flow being very positive..and coming soon..

rocketblast - 'up to' 3 months for CER to excercise their option on Harvey, it may happen tomorrow for all I know so not necessarily the full 3 months to decide

It will take a certain amount of time to ascertain what I (personally) refer to as producibility.

The three month wait is a red herring as they NOW have the 49ft gas column within their strategy limits. We should get a brokers clarity and a further RNS this week. Actually there is not much else to say as the find is within target and the 3 months was for the funding to be aligned... looking good for IOG going forward.

Cheers Dh, yes we don't want 'Hugh' returns here! I would prefer 'mgt wants to under promise and (hopefully!) over deliver' but they haven't been playing that game for a while. My assessment is that IOG are hedging their bets until determined as commercial (or not!) by CER - we will have to wait up to 3 months to find out the answer to that one. Hence the market 'I don't know what to make of that' reaction!!

Looking well within expectations with a 49ft gas column...they should have stated range between expected 30 and 65 looks great. Well within strategy and looking forward to more positive news.... The Company's Core Project targets a gross 2P peak production rate of 146 MMCF/d (c. 25,000 Boe/d) from gross 2P gas Reserves of 302 BCF(1) + 2C gas Contingent Resources of 108 BCF(2), via an efficient hub strategy.
