05/1/2009 17:03 | Thanks to all posters - I only found about IEC in summer 2007 - appreciate all research and contributions to this thread. All came good in the end. Anyone know how come IEC mid price is above 1250p? (1257) | dasv
05/1/2009 15:36 | Wonder if its ONGC buying up shares at 1251p? | madjock2
05/1/2009 15:28 | Think they are frozen guys. | jelenko
05/1/2009 15:08 | Katsy As far as i am aware you can't trade the assented shares unless they are traded as IECA. Your broker may be able to do it via a third party but the £12.50 to come is cost free! | madjock2
05/1/2009 14:53 | My broker doesn't show up IECA shares, so what happens if I sell my assented shares? Seems very tempting when the bid is £12.5 or above. | katsy
05/1/2009 12:40 | Is the money paid into nominee accounts? | cool hand kev
05/1/2009 12:23 | Yeah! Thanks to all regular contributors for easing the pain in the difficult times. Not long now for the cash! Wouldn't you know it that it's trading above the offer price. Never ceased to amaze, this share | madjock2

31/12/2008 19:55 | Yep, Happy & Healthy new year all. Over and OUT. | jelenko
31/12/2008 19:33 | What a journey and what a blinder PL has played to get us to this point and many thanks to him. Thanks also to the very informed & measured posts from Benny, Peter Anthony, Mad and others, particularly when things were a little difficult. If PL catches his breath and starts a new venture, I'm sure we'll all meet on the new thread. | super y

31/12/2008 17:56 | I closed my entire spreadbet with IG Index this morning at 1243.9p. So ends my brief association with IEC. :0) I bought in using 4x leverage on 9 December and then substantially added to this position until 18 December at prices mostly below £10. I never wavered in my firm view that the ONGC bid would go through with acceptances over 90%. Happily, my firm conviction has paid off handsomely! After 22 days, my return is well over 100% on what has been my largest-ever spreadbet by a mile. This deal certainly puts a final shine on what has been a grim year elsewhere, both for my spreadbetting and investing performances. Now if only the mooted bid for SOCO International (LSE: SIA) comes through... ;0) Part of my IEC profit has already been recycled into some of my 'conviction bets' for 2009: oil-services group Lamprell (LSE: LAM); the UK's largest bookmaker, Ladbrokes (LSE: LAD); and engineer Titan Europe (LSE: TSW). If anyone is interested in these shares, you'll find me commenting on them elsewhere on ADVFN and at Fool.co.uk. All that remains is for me to wish you a happy and successful 2009. Let's hope it's a vast improvement on 2008! All the best, Cliff D'Arcy | cliffyburger
31/12/2008 17:53 | So nearly time to remove this thread from favourites... It's been emotional. | davius
31/12/2008 12:55 | What a nice bunch of people we have had on this thread...well done for the mutual support and sound judgement that we have experienced...we shouldn't lose touch...I am following Timan closely but as yet not confident enough to urge others..Their FD is an honorable guy | benny62 |
