30/11/2018 08:56 | Don't fall in love with the sector. There are challenges from new generation products. Many of these are being cheeply produced by non tobacco companies. Big tobacco no longer have the monopoly they once did. You can buy many of these cheap vape kits and liquids on Amazon from a 100 different companies. So the distribution monopoly has also been broken by online availability. You can make a case this is already reflected in the share price | essentialinvestor

28/11/2018 16:26 | near 8% reinvested each year for the next 5yrs ... I'm in no hurry and will buy between 250 and 750 shares each quarter until I have enough. | the drewster
28/11/2018 16:18 | Must be a price at which Jap Tobacco has a serious look ? | philanderer
28/11/2018 12:55 | I would not buy this stock hoping for great capital appreciation, it's an income play at best, with a dividend at risk of being flat. I do see £28-£30 in a years time though, if your investment horizon is 5 years +, it may be worth a punt at this price. | this_time_its_different
28/11/2018 10:46 | Welcome aboard DREWSTER I think you have chosen a good time to enter he game and think this should do well from this level. Unfortunate for me I have been in this for a while so not fairing quite so good however there's a good divi to be had and hopefully in a year or 2 this will be back above the 30.00 mark which will suit me just fine. 22/11/2018 11:10 | Morning PHIL yes pretty bad show for IMB I still retain my core holding after dumping that 2000 shares on the bell yesterday, however looking a touch sad today after that bombshell. All my holdings RED at present apart from one CAML. IMB being the worst financially at present. The money from my sale of IMB yesterday is now in FRES so fingers crossed. Atb Ken | ken tennis
22/11/2018 09:37 | Indeed , that's another 50p off the share price even after the divi is stripped out. But there again all my lot pretty well red across the board. | philanderer
22/11/2018 08:47 | MACTHEPAK good call yesterday im glad I dumped my 2000 at least I got some trading cash instead of it being locked in they crucifying this today. | ken tennis

21/11/2018 17:59 | Just to say and or remind everyone that the Dow's closed for tomorrow. | luderitz
21/11/2018 16:54 | Just the 'standard' Div drop will give share price of 2508p and may well drop a further 30-40p. No spare funds at the moment, unfortunately, to take advantage (if it happens). | eeza
21/11/2018 16:46 | MACTHEPAK and EEZA me too I sold me 2000 still got 3620 core holding but needed some trading dosh to play with I ended down £10 but that's life MAC I ink we could well see 2470 or below tomorrow or Friday. ATB Ken. | ken tennis
21/11/2018 16:30 | I am back price up to 2570p sold all my holding of 4000 shares hopefully will be buying back at 2470-2490 range in the next couple of days. I do not like shorting, but it has been a frustrating day with IMB today. | macthepak
21/11/2018 16:18 | Well I am going to make a cup of tea, back at 16:25 | macthepak
21/11/2018 16:01 | Well you have to wonder what needs to happen for this to rise. FTSE up 85pts obviously not enough. | eeza
21/11/2018 12:48 | Large (looking) divs attract shorters when they go XD. In IMB's case, div tomorrow 0f 65.46p will (probably) see a corresponding drop in share price taking it to the upper reaches of the 'greatest fallers' list. Also a lot of peeps sell as soon as it's gone XD adding to the downward pressure which encourages more shorters. So may well see a drop of ~100p. | eeza |
