well somethings definitely up - we cleared the £28 hurdle this time without any trouble and someones busy buying that's for sure.

is it a takeover target perhaps?

Greed should take over IMB now. I see IMB breaking £30 easily within the next few weeks.

I can see cannabis providing a regular news flow here and a lucrative new market in time.

This share has taken one hell of a beating from early April
17 to early April 18 it lost 42% of its share value however earnings have still been maintained and best of all th dividend.
I have been bying in since August 17 when price was £32.50
Hoping for a bounce but MM kept taking it lower.
My last buy was mid April 18 at a price of £23.19 bringing my average down to just over £26.00
I realy think this will be at least £30.00 in 6 months time if not sooner but I will still hold as Feel I've worked hard to get my position and want to collect the nice divi for a few years.
To all on this board please keep the good information coming in, it's allways good to analyse other people's views.
Allways do your own research.

All the best

@Bonnard, generally speaking the view is that, pound down = FTSE up, as the majority of FTSE constituents have significant foreign earnings that translate into more pounds when Sterling is weak. This is one reason why when the BoE scabre-rattles re: the need for IR% hikes, the Pound rallies and the FTSE takes a knock. [There are other major reasons involved but I'll leave it there].

To see the likely impact on IMB's earnings from an FX movement, you could look in the results for the major geographic segments of foreign net-profits, US$, Euro, Yen, etc? and model how changes in the respective FX rates would impact things. I expect you might have better things to do with your time though :) An alt would be reading the latest results and looking for remarks made re: impact of FX rates; you'd hope since it matters to the likes of IMB they'd have a section on it.

FWIW from Motley Fool, that said there is more fact-based content to this article than the usual blind puffery. It's a concise summary of how things stand today with some metrics, together with a look ahead.
'My 3 favourite FTSE 100 5% yielders'. dd: today

The three are IMB, GSK, and ITV.

'In broker note action, British American Tobacco and Imperial Brands were started at ‘buy’ by Liberum' [source: DL]
BATS is +2.5% intra-day. Maybe Liberum's broker notes 'were wot did it'. I'm still surprised Liberum covered neither company before...
