16/6/2021 11:03 | We're not buying back. spud | spud
16/6/2021 10:45 | It is actually good that the share price isn't getting too carried away. If the business is doing well the share price can stay exactly where it is because we will benefit from buy-backs at lower prices. | medieval blacksmith
15/6/2021 12:01 | It does tend to drop once ex-divi, then regain it all by the time the dividend is paid. Target price should be back to pre-covid levels in my view. | lendmeafiver
14/6/2021 00:16 | Just eyeballing the chart, £17 is very achievable in that time frame, as targets go. The last time we saw £17 was a year ago. I'd rather it waited until I get the dividend money in my account and reinvest it in IMB first though ;0) | cassini
13/6/2021 21:47 | Anyone for £17 by month end?spud | spud
13/6/2021 21:11 | Yes - and I think that's what's the new ceo is doing ... without spelling it out. Wind down investment/capex in new gen, concentrate on market share of combustibles, pay down debt ... old school | dartboard1
13/6/2021 21:06 | Does anyone else think a policy of NOT pursuing NGP's might win out in the end? | podgyted
10/6/2021 16:18 | Thanks Minerve, I have seen that one before, it’s a bit out of date now but still of interest. I personally think the transition over the NGP’s may well take much longer than anyone expects. | lendmeafiver
10/6/2021 15:43 | Here, as a gesture of goodwill to the thread, have a look a this, it is worthwhile reading. It downloads a PDF to your computer but is from a university so don't worry, it isn't spam or anything nasty. | minerve 2
10/6/2021 15:38 | No problem Minerve | lendmeafiver
10/6/2021 15:32 | lendmeafiver I apologise too. I let Brexit get the wrong side of me far too often. :) | minerve 2
10/6/2021 15:28 | Understood Minerve, I agree with many if the things you say, just prefer to come here to read about tobacco and NGP’s etc rather than politics, I can’t stand it and have a low opinion of all politicians, tend to be ego maniacs. As Gateside says, it was a very interesting video with the CEO and DB, released this week, I liked the “local brands” Fortuna example, rather than just focusing on “global brands” like West. | lendmeafiver
10/6/2021 15:25 | So i've got till 19th August to buy before the next ex dividend. Might look at buying in a few batches to build up a decent holding. With the dividend cut out of the way, hopefully future dividends are pretty safe. | gateside
10/6/2021 15:19 | Gateside - I'm of the same opinion. But as I said at the time, coming from the Motor Trade Senior Management (much like myself) he was always going to be a stand out type. spud | spud
10/6/2021 15:17 | I'll pipe down on Brexit on this thread, for now, and I appreciate the comment. But please no censorship. If one can't express an opinion, then the thread is worthless anyway. Just look at the Lloyds thread. You have to be pro-Brexit and pro-Lloyds to be 'in the club'. Any other view is censored, pretty much. So they all invest in Lloyds and have gone nowhere in the last 5 years/more because nobody is allowed any opinions, most of all objective ones (negative) on the investment at hand. And worst of all, they think they are clever by behaving that way. Dear me. | minerve 2
10/6/2021 15:16 | Watch the video of Stefan Bomhard. Very impressed, this guy clearly has a vision for this company. Looking to invest for the excellent dividend and future growth. Had been considering BATS, but after watching Stefan Bomhard, I feel that this will be the better investment. | gateside
10/6/2021 15:07 | Yeah, well I find Brexit deeply offensive. I find it offensive to the rest of the EU. I find it offensive to Remainers and democrats who have just been sidelined. I find it offensive to the futures of our youth. I find it offensive to many things. If you have children of your own in their early 20s you might understand how Boris, the current Tories and Brexit are a cancer on many things - that is if you understand what is truly going on. | minerve 2
10/6/2021 14:54 | Very sorry to offend, I’m just not interested in politics I’m afraid, I tend to use ADVFN for discussion of stocks I’m thinking of investing in and this thread to talk about Imperial Brands funnily enough, but best of luck investing. | lendmeafiver
10/6/2021 14:46 | Best let me have free speech on Brexit. Farage was allowed many decades in Brussels. So it works both ways. Allow me. Feel free to respond or don't respond. Try to collectively filter and this thread dies. End of story. You choose. | minerve 2
10/6/2021 14:37 | I do think you need some help before you hurt yourself. Now filtered I suspect the thread will survive if I can't see your rubbish | davetedjack
10/6/2021 14:32 | I successfully destroyed the Lloyds thread. I will do it here. I'm free to talk about Brexit and it isn't an issue that you will be allowed to bury. Not here and certainly NOT in real life. | minerve 2
10/6/2021 14:30 | "Boring","Move on" Erm, no... sorry, cannot do. Remainers could have said the same thing about being in the EU to you and your Farage God. No putting your heads in the sand this time I'm afraid. You voted for it, reap what you sow you morons. Filter me and this thread will become worthless. Trust me. | minerve 2 |
