It sounded like the companies, but I'm not certain. Hence the question mark. It was very quick - a comment thrown in , type of thing.

irenekent - Have likewise been in IMT since the Hanson days, probably my best performing share, I have bought and sold a few times but always had a core holding. Really like the announcement that dividends will be paid quarterly from next year.

Been in since the Hanson days. Incredible share performance with divs re-invested. I think they were about £4 originally. Might start taking the divs in cash now as they look like they are getting expensive.

Oriel Securities issued a buy note, saying:

Imperial Tobacco released 2014 full year results which were in line with both the market and our own expectations.

Importantly, Imperial delivered its promised 10% dividend advance in 2014 and remains on track to hand over a similar gain in 2015.

Conditions in mature markets continue to be described as challenging. However, we continue to see examples of firm pricing at the premium end of the market – notably in the UK.

At this stage Imperial appears comfortable with current consensus for earnings per share growth in 2015, which is for around 2.5% in reported currency and 4.5% in constant – i.e. the company is back to mid-singles growth, which is important given its 10% dividend growth ambitions.

With a 12.6 times calendar 2015 PE and 5.4% calendar 2015 dividend yield, Imperial Tobacco continues to look attractively valued given its underlying improvements on trading and operational performance.

This may seem a left field folks, but Ebola needs to be watched if this
develops in to a pan African pandemic, IMT have big markets there and with
significant gearing on the balance sheet any potential revenue drop is a
concern, just imv only.

Most TV interviewers aren't clever enough &/or bold enough. Politicians have no experience in the real world.

I find it amazing that none of the TV interviewers refuse or don't think to challenge the logic behind these policy decisions. They are clearly shallow and we will end up with an ageing, potless group of people that will cost us more in the long term.

Wider market moves of more concern short term folks.
