Barclays appears to be very gradually reducing its IMG share holding but retaining its short position.

There must be a whiff of something? I noticed a bump up as the US opened yesterday! - Interesting.

I got out in June @ 148p on the first rise, usually the best policy. I see not much has happened since then, can't see any reason to want back in but I will keep them on my watch list. Instead ploughed more money into (PFC) which has been rewarding.

I wonder where AH is taking his holidays? China? Japan? North America? :-)

Stoic optimism! If I can add any insight I will duly oblige - meanwhile I'm going to see a back surgeon and hoping its less painful than hanging in here!

I don't think there's much courting of me :-)

So what's your reading of the runes crystal ?

"I agree with nick", became a catchphrase when everyone was courting Nick Clegg.

I don't think it's as leaky as it used to be in the days of SHY! - That's the problem however - everyone who's anyone is probably on holiday. I wouldn't bet against some speculation over the weekend - question of hanging tight whilst the shorter have their time in the sun.

I agree with nick...err Hammerd2, things appear to be dragging on a bit with not much feel or sense of anything happening.

I think it's also pertinent to point out that there has been little or no rumours or speculation in the press. IMG aren't historically known as being the tightest of ships, so if there were any seriously interested parties, you'd think some info would have leaked out by now.

Something I thought about in post 28008 James. It's unlikely the nest-featherer Generals would be happy to see the company go without them getting some back pocket lining.

I have a thought on the sale price: From memory the directors will only stand to make a good return on their share options if the sale price is above £1.30ish. Therefore if a bid comes in at £1.30 a share they have no personal incentive to accept it since if they play hard ball but fail and end up with a price of only half of that they will not personally be impacted. Therefore there is a strong personal incentive for them to push for a price above the £1.30s. Obviously they also have professional obligations but at least the personal incentive should work exactly as intended given the current share price.

Sales and licenses (if any are still actually getting signed in this current chaos) are now largely irrelevant OAH. The only game in town is now whether or not the company gets sold and for how much. If no sale happens then share certificates (there's one for the kids) are best suited for wallpapering the toilet.

It seems strange how record results for Apple based on "increased iPhone sales" hasn't been mentioned here. IMG income still benefits directly from Apple's performance for at least another year or two doesn't it?

ejirem that's a bit of a silly first post. He may be an employee but why would the company send someone 'undercover' to post messages on a BB ? Maybe he's an illuminati !!!😱👻; 👻

4 July was the day the FY results were released to the public, not the day they were signed off. Unless the auditors were hammering away at their calculators all night and only managed to press the last "=" by 7am on 4 July they were completed some time before that and they would have been "almost there" at the time of the year end trading update in May when they announced the results would be released in the week commencing 3 July.

There would have already been very, very accurate accounts a long time before 4 July and suitors would have been privy to the very latest up to date management accounts at any time (and more than one had already expressed interest at the start of June) from when they signed their bid interest NDAs.

If we believe there is more than one company undertaking due diligence at the moment and I’ve read that due diligence takes about 6 weeks IF your’re pushing hard “it can’t all be done in 30 days”
So the full accounts were signed off on 4 July – so that’s gonna be Aug 20 or so before any offers unless there is a suitor who already started their own process before the company was officially up for sale, although they won’t have had the official audited accounts! Anyone know any different?

Is the market just trying to get all the MAs crammed into one point on the share price graph ? It's getting a little snug in there.

Argh hargh me hearties !
