27/7/2017 21:54 | Maybe I needed to ask more politely. Excuse me my fine fellow, on what would a buyer need to spend $300m ? That is not a figure I have seen mooted. And for why was an unscheduled board meeting arranged ? For sure it would seem remiss for someone to claim things happened in such times when they had not. | hammerd2
27/7/2017 16:50 | $300m usd for what ? | hammerd2
27/7/2017 11:50 | I guess the elephant in the room with bidders is the question of settling the dispute with Apple - it's not exactly a USP! Qualcomm or Samsung are well versed in fighting Apple - wondering whether they would be willing to make a large bid knowing there will be a bigger prize at the end of the day. 300m USD to buy out the patents etc about 5 years of what Apple were paying in licencing seems about right? BTW - Full board meeting in London this afternoon... | crystal_balls3
26/7/2017 17:30 | Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus to be released 5 August. First phones with MediaTek Helio X30 containing PowerVR 7XT Plus four cluster GPU on 10nm process node. Looking forward to benchmark scores. | borromini1
24/7/2017 14:23 | The former :-) I'd hope for more than a 6p bump on real takeover talks. | hammerd2
24/7/2017 14:02 | Do you mean regarding the conf call or regarding the takeover rumour....? :-) | jamesrowe
24/7/2017 13:44 | It went very quiet very quickly there eh ? | hammerd2
24/7/2017 13:41 | One thinks crystal_balls3 remembered the first bit, but forgot the second bit. But never let the facts stand in the way of a bit of vague innuendo. | twatcher
24/7/2017 12:16 | From the post results analyst CC : Analyst 'I was a bit curious about your comment that in theory you would have a pipeline of opportunity which would compensate for the Apple revenue - I mean that's quite a big statement and you've written that in your press release. AH 'To be clear (Jenardin ?), we said it would help fill the gap, we did not say it would fill the gap'. So I'm just curious where you're getting this extra information that shows, with respect, that you know a little more than me here. | hammerd2
24/7/2017 11:57 | Where might you make an intelligent guess? | crystal_balls3
24/7/2017 11:55 | Ha ha - Yeah right ! I mean I only listened properly to the post results CC (which is where I'm guessing you got this nugget from). After about 20 years invested in VDO/IMG. But you must be right. Apologies for my new-kid-on-the-block If you could just let me know where and when the artful dodger - sorry AH - said that Apple revenues would be replaced in 2 years I will gladly defer. | hammerd2
24/7/2017 11:35 | With respect maybe I know a bit more than you here H! | crystal_balls3
24/7/2017 11:19 | No he didn't. He specifically said the deals that were in the pipeline - not signed and before the bombshell - could help reduce the lost units. Ther has been no news on how these are progressing since the bombshell. I would guess not well as now would be a tremendous time to highlight a major license deal or 2. You're dreaming if you think that 2-3 usual sized deals could replace Apple ! | hammerd2
24/7/2017 10:48 | Got to remember that AH said 'about 2 years' when asked how long it would take to replace the lost Apple annual revenue after the recent good results - if they are successfully pitching this into potential buyers we could see significant upside from here. Wonder what the markets make of the Chinese news in the morning. GLA | crystal_balls3
24/7/2017 09:58 | Spoke too soon H!! :-) | jamesrowe
24/7/2017 09:49 | not so fast... | twatcher
24/7/2017 08:55 | Well that takeover rumour ran out of steam pretty quickly :-) | hammerd2
23/7/2017 14:07 | That telegraph article is quite funny, at least the bit about it being a threat if MIPS is sold to the Chinese. This part would be accurate if we were talking chips, however what we're talking about here is IP. Those aerospace and defence companies using MIPS could still use it safe in the knowledge that they know what they are getting, since the Chinese would not be producing the chips, only providing a license to use the MIPS design. I do not see an issue with 'national security' here. Yes the future design of MIPs and it's direction would be in the hands of the Chinese, but so what. | timbob2000
21/7/2017 18:11 | Why don't you remove that drivel freddie? It's cluttering up the thread :) | borromini1
20/7/2017 18:34 | borromini1's use of upper case for IS suggests to me that he is subconsciously a jehadi! :) | freddie ferret
