Any man who sails with IMG is taking quite a chance,
they will hang you from the gallows
just to see if you can dance.

China_Tea_Cups perhaps?
I've checked and the company yacht is definitely missing! - He must be shark fishing in the South China Seas - we purchased that yacht from Robert Maxwell Holdings a while back. GLA me old China's - we know there's only gonna be one outcome here.

All joking aside though crystals if you are who you seem to be implying - an insider/employee with knowledge of the comings and goings and private utterances of the IMG hierarchy - then I'd check my terms of employment before going much further or you might find yourself out on your ear. I mean if you were 'only' the IMG tea lady you'd have probably picked a different handle right ?

Agreed, (I did have some salt between my fingers) hopefully not true or it's another boring 2 weeks at least!

THEYAK don't forget crytal_balls3 knows all and sees all (it must be all those crystal balls) so it must be true. In the past he has also seen comments that no-one else did and knew of a mystery board meeting last week which no-one else knew about and that happened - mysteriously - outside the purpose built boardroom at KL in London :-)

AH must be supremely confident there won't be a bid while he's popped out.

AH on holiday for two weeks now, so we better just chill! Meanwhile share price will probably dwindle.

Just paid for my initial 30k+ punt so in now til the other T20 matures on 23rd.

I really wish someone up there would pull their fingers out. How long does it take to look over a couple of numbers ? Given that "a number of parties" were interested in buying the whole shebang "over the last few weeks" by 22 June (so read by 8 June at the latest) they have both had plenty of time to do the required due diligence - it's been over 7 weeks for heaven's sake. At some point in the very near future they must surely have to announce that either there has been an offer they are not happy with, an offer they are happy with or there have been no offers. How long can this situation be left in the air ? I haven't been able to find anything concrete with open ended offers like this so there may be no time limit.

Holders will be praying for an offer the BoD are happy with leading to a counter offer.....like MIPS managed to achieve.

Given the skills exhibited so far by the dastardly duo I wouldn't put it past them to not be able to manage to sell the whole company, thus delaying the sale of the bits they originally wanted to sell, then not be able to sell those either. Fingers crossed they can prove my opinion of their abilities wrong .

The new Draw Stream Binning Rasterizer in the new AMD Vega graphics chip sounds very similar to IMG's Tile-Based Deferred Rendering IP to me.....

Between 25-27 July Richard Griffiths has opened long CFDs for 1,011,203 shares at an average price of £1.469605. He's somehow managed to be doing even worse than my trades ! He's down over £80k so far.

Mediatek and Renesas would likely be considered lead licensees.

I still think that IMGs RT IP would be a good fit for AMD in teh desktop arena..... it just needs to be re-engineered for that first. And didn't IMG mention something about repositioning the RT IP??

Must be MTK then.

It's a shame the big AMD takeover rumour died - I'd guess their desire to work with Apple in other areas would now rule them out.

"The GT8525 has already been delivered to lead customers; it is available for licensing now"
Was from the PR for GT8525.

and from the furian announcement a few months earlier.....
"Imagination has already licensed the first Furian IP cores to multiple partners with initial RTL delivered"

If the storyline from Apple is correct, it wasn't delivered to them, Most would have assumed that Apple was one of them. Apple had often historically been referred to as a lead customer. It is interesting to note that the Furian announcement does not mention lead customer, the GT8525 does, but it's not a high end variant.

Indeed Ian :-) I just wish they'd hurry up about it...

Richard Griffiths seems to be stakebuilding in a hurry, up to almost 2%, all at over 145p as far as I can tell. What is it with IMG and Welshmen ?

I think I saw something about 8XT as well (I think the term was several or "a number")

Hammerd2, regarding RT, If the IP is any good, you'd think it would bring certain people into the buyout equation.

Not sure James. I can't remember seeing anything about lead licensees being signed up for 8XT, Just a lot of noise about the volume of 8XE licensees, and talk of XT in the same sentence as the XE mentions without actually saying it had been licensed.

Still no sign of an RT customer either, I guess without Apple there's no demand for it from the existing customer base.

Something occurs to me.... I am pretty sure that IMG claimed a while ago that someone (or was it 2 companies??) had already licensed series 8 XT. At the time I assumed that it was Apple. However, now that Apple is claiming that it hasn't licensed any new IMG IP for some time, who could the licensee be??

Further to post 27994: There was no reason for Apple to license the 8XT for the "pipe cleaner" soc move to 10nm TSMC when the 7XT based GPU easily outperformed the Intel GPU as per the above article.
