Why don't they show a stacked prototype powering a mobile phone? preferably a sumsung galaxy note 7.

That would get them some media attention!!!!!!!

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that there was a particular problem per se but that in-chip stacking is something that they have to achieve and, as far as their announcements are concerned they have not yet achieved.

Also, they are way behind their own roadmap from 18 months ago.

I am loaded up with Ilika shares and have been a strong advocate of theirs from almost two years back. I don't want to sound carping about their achievements and I am pleased they managed to get the recent fund-raising away.

However, I do get frustrated by the slow pace of advance. This is a mega industry they are in and making the ground-breaking technical breakthrough two years ago, by identifying a suitable solid electrolyte for the Ni-ion cell, is not enough. They have really got to speed things up. In-chip double stacking has got to be achieved soon or their whole advantage will be gone.

Hb they haven't said there's any problem, the material works, is stackable but these are early stages before commercialisation can commence.

Samsung's problems with exploding phones catching fire, would solid state batteries be the answer? Or are they not powerful enough.

And I will copy your post if it is worthy of useful info to share for other investors

as you continue to delete your own posts. What's that about?

Not recalling a project codename doesn't mean I shouldn't be invested, so Enlighten me
You know nothing and appear to buy and sell this with poor timing but here's your chance to prove me wrong...

Rog we had the news I.e. Success in producing it as a product and testing, we now await commercialisation through licensing which will come. Any views on these discussion boards are just speculation so don't take it too seriously. Shareholders always get impatient, directors are always over optimistic in their statements knowingly or not as they have to manage the share price to an extent for funding etc
I hoped we'd have a few deals by now myself but concluding they haven't got anything as some non holders here are is ridiculous
An update from the co is needed but a lack of one could mean they are close to announcing a deal, nobody knows

Is Stereax too big for this?

Would make a good use case if they could recharge by eg body heat, or movement. Safety profile of the Ilika battery is good for such an application. I wonder who provides the one they're using?

malnu - how does it put concerns about stacking to rest? It only says they can do it, and they've been saying that for at least 6 months.

Click here for the investor presentation which supported the placing announcement of 27th September 2016.

The web-site has now uploaded the presentation to investors in the placing. Visit the investors tab in order to view. Should put some concerns I've noticed (particularly on stacking) to rest.

Rogk.

I agree with your critique.

Ilika's technology is imo important but not revolutionary.

It COULD be an important player in the battery sphere if it hustles enough.

Its 40% lead in battery metrics is great but won't sustain it in the longer term unless it can keep making technological advances.

For this it needs more finance than it probably has.

The future is not in Stearax 250. It's in a much beefier battery which can only be reached via stackability.

So it's sink or swim for Ilika, and the difference will be in the amount of chutzpah that exists in the boardroom.

My message is to Graeme Purdy. You have to aim a lot higher than where you are currently aiming. For god's sake go and party with The California boys...or hand the reigns to somebody who can.
