Clearly getting away a big placing in the midst of Covid suggests the management are well backed by knowledgeable institutional investors.

BTW I note that our CEO has become a non-exec at Bacanora, which will be producing enormous volumes of lithium in a few years time. The synergy is obvious and may prove very useful down the line. I have BCN shares too.

It could be, DB. Would probably take a while and needs a bit of luck for the battery technology to be one of the winners, but I don't see why not as it's going very well at present (see placing document). More substance here IMO than in some of the clean energy stocks that have got close to ten bagging in recent weeks. The potential markets are huge.

I'm a LT investor, not a trader, so I can wait. But I have a suspicion that the shares are ready for lift-off right now.

The long lead time on the tooling suggests this will be a slow burner and likely to be 12 months+ before they can get ready to go to market.

Fasten your seatbelts. This company is in the right place at the right time and others around have been heading for the skies of late.

I really liked today's update and topped up this morning. Despite the recent placing, there's no sign of much of an overhang. What is more, the way that the shares held up through the market's covid-19 sell-off suggests a complete absence of stale bulls.

The Southbank team have noticed it too, which could give it quite a nudge in the right direction.

Good that JakNife is not running anything I’m invested in. Clearly clueless on building a business...😂

JN - What numbers did you expect? They are not in a manufacturing phase yet. You could argue, as some do that they should have progressed to manufacturing faster but they are where they are.

In any case they have a niche product that takes time for customers to incorporate into designs.

Lots of potential, but I suspect that cash may burn before they go into full manufacture and they may have to go back to the market again.

It is nice to have a trading update that can say "... Ilika can confirm that no material changes to the Company have resulted from the pandemic so far."

Ilika has awarded a contract for the procurement of a custom-designed evaporation tool (Tool 1) for the rapid deposition of cathode materials for Ilika's Stereax batteries. Tool 1 is designed to deliver a 70x productivity increase relative to Ilika's current pilot line capability.

I’m hopeful but I think Covid will likely set them back six months.

But that’s really not their fault!
