They make money without the fracking side of the business so it will survive.

First - Shareholders including private equity firm Riverstone Holdings LLC, which has a direct 45% holding, and Kerogen Capital, which holds an indirect stake, have hired the Royal Bank of Canada to study ways to cash out of their investment, said people familiar with the matter, asking not to be named because the information is private. And then second (TODAY!) - government fracking ban 🙇😉 Surfs up 🙆🏻‍♂️🤫...and “Atino” wants a slice of your company’s...”shedding”...VALUATION 🥺😳 (...not to mention - mass exodus 🙆🏻‍♂️)

I expect that it may get bought out, as the underlying business is sound. And perhaps in 10 years time when the balance of payments is even worse and security of supply is suspect, fracking will be allowed again. I am sure many around Gainsborough would like some well-paid jobs.

The government clearly don’t want this been used against them in the election, hence the timing. No doubt a sell off on Monday, with the insider traders bailing late on Friday. Technically fracking at the moment costs IGAS money and makes no profit so suspending in the short term shouldn’t do too much harm, sure it will come back on the table down the road. With 80% of us using gas for heating/cooking and having to rely on 75% been imported it makes sense it needs to be used at some point. Crash hats on at Monday opening .... me for now, just holding tight as I’m sure marketmakers will mark it down to a silly level.

Uncertainty is certainly not doing IGAS any favours and I can't see that changing until 2020. Meanwhile the world moves on.

I note that the government just delayed a decision on the development consent order for Wylfa (a proposed new nuclear power plant). It occurs to me that they might have been influenced in deciding to delay, partly because there is to be a general election soon (I don't see how MPs can evade the electorate for very much longer; they make themselves look awful). This is typical for such decisions. It occurs to me that it may well be the same with the Ellesmore port appeal decision, which has been "called in" to the Secretary of State (Andrea Leadsome) at BEIS, and for the microseismicity limit review, particularly if it were to move more towards the (all are higher) international limits.

Don't expect the oil price boost to last long. It looks like a big head-fake. Sat pics don't even show the refineries on fire now. The sand-kings are manipulating you. Don't fall for it! tinyurl/SAUDI-PRODUCTION-OIL

Igas is priced as a conventional oil and gas extractor. The shale extraction, when/if it happens, is a bonus. Cuadrilla seems to attract the rent-a-mob who are against most things, while Igas is playing it carefully in n area where I has a good reputation over many years. Now is not the time to short but to buy, IMO, if you think that shale gas will be produced.
