Do you mean the Ellesmere port appeal, or another? Planninginspectorate. Gov. Uk says decision date not yet announced. They won't say when until they actually announce the decision. So what is feb 26th?

They look perfectly decent results to me, bones698, - more or less as expected. The current oil and gas production underpins the current share price giving a p/e of under 7. Any shale goods news will send the share price up.

positive outcome to the appeal commencing 26th Feb could send the price higher.

Expect to see this fall back to the 50p range on that update . Nothing inspiring at all and not much good news . Production stable not increasing even though cash is getting burned through at an alarming rate . Unless they can get some decent drills with good flow rates soon on the bottom line I wouldn't hold this for a while .

I see the need for onshore gas. Just not sure there will be an onshore industry left in the current Government continues to press the self destruct button.

I've been a quiet holder. Fully see the need for onshore gas. I've just taken a look at the chart and that is one fly in the ointment. It looks like it will take a while longer to get back some oomph imho.

To be honest a vertical drill at Tinker lane was unlikely to find much. The major coal & oil deposits are 20 miles south and 10 miles east....

On the fence regards investing in IGas? IMO IGas is cash flow positive and has low debt. The conventional oil production and a $242 million Free Carry on Shale Gas Exploration allows IGas to make steady progress on its gradual switch from Oil to Gas as its main source of revenue. Natural Gas is an ideal transition fuel to a renewables energy future. Why invest in IGas now?.... Regardless of political outcomes over the next few weeks UK needs secure Energy. Over 80% of UK households rely on gas to heat their homes. France's unrest was sparked by increases in fuel prices and I'm sure UK politicians will have taken note. ----------IGas has an exploratory drill rig at Tinker Lane targeting the Bowland Shale. I believe it will start to show early signs of Gas and possible oil reserves in just a few days (mentioned by others on LSE chat as eye-balling the cores). ----------Addition upside, Ellesmere Port Planning Appeal next month to test the Gas flow. Remember the well is already there and IGas just needed permission to test. NB. Recommended for approval by the planning department but refused on I believe flimsy grounds as not being inline with the councils renewables energy policy......Question....How can IGas get Government approval to drill but subsequently not be allowed to test whats there? IMO Ellesmere Port will be approved as it's only a test and is part of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project to identify what potential energy is under our feet........IGas RNS...... Government launched two consultations: one that will consider allowing exploration wells to be drilled under permitted development (i.e. without the requirement of a planning application); and another on the inclusion of shale production projects into the Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects regime......IGas RNS.....Britain needs a diverse supply of energy which protects and secures UK jobs and UK taxes. Imported gas currently costs over GBP13 million a day - money that is not generating jobs or tax revenues in this country.----------IGas restructured at 90p when Brent was $50, with OPEC meeting shortly and a rise back to $80 possible, coupled with IGas production hedged almost a year in advance revenue is I believe secure. Three wells (Tinker Lane, Springs Road and potentially Ellesmere Port) therefore three chances of significant Gas reserves to be proved up in the coming months for under the Radar IGas.----------The British Geological Survey estimates that the Bowland Shale alone could hold up to 1,329 Tcf (37.6 trillion cubic meters) of gas in place. With a recovery rate of 10%, that would mean recoverable reserves of as much as 3.8 Tcm, enough to meet the UK's current gas demand for 47 years...... above courtesy of S&P Global (All IMO & DYOR)

The hype around Lancashire is the tip of the iceberg. The real hydrocarbon honey pot is north notts/south yorkshire. Ie Tinker Lane One. https://ogauthority.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=29c31fa4b00248418e545d222e57ddaa

.....today we are behaving like we did in the mid-1800s when our nascent car industry was nearly destroyed by forcing a man with a red flag to walk in front of automated road vehicles to stop them from driving faster than 4 miles per hour...... I would like to say how grateful we for the support of AJ Lucas, both as an investor in Cuadrilla, and of course, as a shareholder in the Lancashire licence in their own right. We are very pleased that we can now start to make production of UK shale gas a reality.... The sun is entering one of the deepest Solar Minima of the Space Age. Sunspots have been absent for most of 2018, and the sun’s ultraviolet output has sharply dropped. New research shows that Earth’s upper atmosphere is responding.
“We see a cooling trend,” says Martin Mlynczak of NASA’s Langley Research Center. “High above Earth’s surface, near the edge of space, our atmosphere is losing heat energy. If current trends continue, it could soon set a Space Age record for cold.”

The limit of 0.5 is absurdly strict. I understand that in Canada it is 2.5, about the level at which the tremor can be detected without instruments. There are hundreds of such tremors in the UK every year, which go unnoticed. In the FT today the U of Liverpool is quoted as saying: "standing 2m from a passing tram is comparable to ground vibrations felt directly above a 1.8 earthquake at 2.5km depth; while standing 5m away from a passing car is comparable to ground vibrations felt directly above a 0.4 earthquake occurring at 2.5km depth". Note the 'directly above'. So if one is worried about a quake of 0.8 miles away then the lesson is to never leave your house!
