this should and will be around 6.50 when dust settles, cant see reason for such big drop, spreadbetting is growing so even though smaller margins after regulations kick in it will be slightly offset, diversification is the key.

well just feels like we still have a good short base in the shares, and BlackRock taking a stake is encouraging since they are rather smart people when it comes to buying out of favour companies. And the cash generation of the company is huge relative to its enterprise value - and lets face it there are few shares in the UK with a chart looking like this ...

Indeed you're right of course - but I was alluding to the fact that a proportion of shareholders will reinvest their divi into IGG shares, particularly so if the share price is comparatively low.

Not the dividend payout date.

I am not up to speed on the financial calendar for IG i admit, but i thought we had gone past ex-div a few weeks ago?

PSNobody listens to the idiot opodio.Read his history and you will see that his MO is:- deramp by constantly posting "profit warning coming"- buy in on a dip and then ramp "bid coming soon"The sad thing is that neither comes to fruition, not a profit warning nor a bid, but the idiot clearly believes he can influence the share price by posting such garbage on a BB.....takes all sorts I suppose.DD

..read 'current financial year' again and perhaps reflect. I sold out before dividend and plan to stay out at least until April.

People invest for 'future' performance, and the guidance on 'current year' simply doesn't cut it for me in terms of certainty hence general uncertainty in share price direction and perhaps why Odey is increasing.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that a negative trading update is released when full impact is known. Not saying it would be sufficiently bad to justify a big fall, just that you cannot rule it out.

They already alluded to Dubai business being impacted:
The Dubai regulator, the DFSA, is in discussions with IG and other stakeholders about the outcome of the review it announced in April 2015 into the offering of highly-leveraged products. Given the current regulatory environment more broadly, IG expect the results of this review to be announced in the near term and to have some impact on its business in the country.
