16/12/2019 12:17 | Looks like IGR have been tipped today by Malcolm Stacey - subscriber-only though: "Santa Rally May Be Pushed Aside this Time, but it Could Boost this Celebrations Company By Malcolm Stacey | Monday 16 December 2019 Hello, Share Choosers. At first, I balked at bringing today’s selection to your attention. That’s because I’m a green supporter and not keen on looking at companies selling a lot of paper. Not even Christmassy stuff like IG Design Group (IGR) does. But then I don't want to turn more Scrooge-like than I am..." | rivaldo

01/12/2019 16:24 | "MIDAS SHARE TIPS UPDATE: IG Design, which comes into its own at this time of year, is a Christmas cracker!" IG Design comes into its own at this time of year. The company makes millions of festive items, including eco-Christmas crackers, wrapping paper, tags, bows and party goodies. It also sells gift products, such as photo frames, calendars and corporate-sponsored items, including Nutella plates. Chief executive Paul Fineman admits Christmas is important to IG, but sales outside the festive season also contribute to the bottom line. The firm makes a huge range of children's stationery, shopping bags for retail chains, bin liners and recycling bags. The blend of goodies is large, but the formula is working. Half-year results, released on Thursday, showed core profits up 14 per cent to £22 million and a 20 per cent increase in the interim dividend to 3p. Brokers expect that pace to continue in the full year to March, with profits up 15 per cent to £35 million and a final dividend of 9.9p, compared to 8.5p the previous year. The figures are noteworthy as IG has faced challenges in recent months. The firm makes most of its money in America so has had to cope with the US trade war with China, by changing suppliers and increasing local production. Brexit uncertainty also disrupted sales but the company is fighting back, particularly in the speciality bags sector. Midas verdict: Midas recommended IG Design in the summer of 2016, when the shares were £2.19. They have tripled since then to £6.60, and prospects seem bright. Cautious investors may choose to sell some shares and use the money to brighten up their own festive season. But they should keep some stock, as the business still has plenty of potential. | hawaly
28/11/2019 14:54 | The IC says Buy this afternoon - subscriber-only though: | rivaldo

27/11/2019 15:50 | Looks nice and solid at present. It seems that there are regular late buys at 660p right on the close which push the price up unrealistically. Not sure if this is some kind of tactic, but it usually means the share price opens as if it has fallen when nothing of the sort has actually happened! Today's action is much better as we seem to be getting some "real" buying at around 660p now. | rivaldo
26/11/2019 11:36 | Typical IGR it always falls back significantly after results 580 possibly to pick up more | gswredland
26/11/2019 07:30 | Excellent results, a record order book and a confident outlook as regards meeting expectations. Interesting to see the booster effect the US acquisition had on EPS last year despite only one month of inclusion post-acquisition due to the timing, which means the EPS increase doesn't quite reflect the large increase in profitability. | rivaldo
05/11/2019 22:24 | Nice close again, with buying at 656p and 657p. | rivaldo
04/11/2019 16:40 | Despite the erroneous closing figure on Friday, all down to the UT being quoted as a traded price, IGR has today closed at another all-time high. So pleased I bought another few k's worth on Thursday. Still a way to go to realise all the potential, I feel. GLA. | yertiz |
